A special issue of Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society B takes a bold step toward redefining one of the most debated concepts in biology and the social sciences: domestication.     “People did different things at different times and places depending on their circumstances” is not exactly news, even in academic circles where head-in-the-sand disorder is all to real. Davids Graeber and Wengrove covered it to much popular acclaim in The Dawn of Everything, and the anthro/archaeology was going on for decades prior.
