Couch surfing and hostels for the win.
Fair enough.
And why a Twitter account?
…Like a dog that doesn’t (and shouldn’t) drink coffee?
That seems to me more just a linguistic quirk of how English works.
I do think it betrays society’s lack of present-focused mindfulness. I’ve had a handful of friendships that I thought would go on to be quite strong and longlasting, but they fizzled out after a while. That’s not to say they were bad or failed friendships. I’m grateful for the time I experienced with them.
Oh, that is somewhat promising. They’ve done great with Severance, which I’ve seen, and apparently also Silo (which I haven’t).
Huh really? That’s exciting! I hope they don’t mess it up. It seems long overdue with all these book/video game adaptations that have been coming out.
That is what I thought. And then I tried to replace the swollen battery on my old Surface Book 1. It’s already garbage, might as well try to replace the screen and battery, right? One punctured lithium ion battery later, I think that’s about the extent of my ‘trying to fix things’ adventure.
I’m very pro-repair and DIY and keeping things out of landfills, but at a certain point, the skills/mastery needed outweigh any benefits of trying to DIY/learn/etc. Sometimes it really is best left to the experts (or not at all, as in the case of the Surface Book).
Same, they told me I would need oral surgery and to break my jaw open. No thanks. Occasionally they twinge and hurt, but I suppose I haven’t died yet.
Not to mention protein from sources other than meat… quinoa, lentils, whole grains, etc.
Is this what having a stroke feels like?
I mean, cyberspace is at least a genuine term made by Gibson. The rest…
Not everyone is lucky enough to be handy, unfortunately…
Monk and Robot
This sounds like a great one to follow up on after having recently started Murderbot, thanks!
It’s hard to do so when it seems like your seeding is never connecting to anyone…
Reminds me of Buying Time, a far-future dystopia comic based around the idea that one needs to spend social credits in order to talk to people (I think for a certain length of time). Those who are credit poor are effectively shut out of society.
Brave New World/Island by Huxley got the memo.
Even if she’s not going to win, she’s using her campaign to help real people right now. Props for that.
The criticism that she only recently moved to the district is in bad faith. How many of the city’s mayors had residency loopholes? We should be encouraging and welcoming visionary newcomers like Kat who are seeking to make an impact, especially given the state’s population drain.
