Yeah I really can’t get into mastodon, I completely agree.
I guess I was never into twitter

Voyager is still my daily driver. The swiping is great.
Red note just added a feature that lets you translate any comment to English (or presumably the local language of your phone number) . Online reviews and Airbnb have done this for a long time. It’s a simple yet amazing feature, one that will really remove barriers to appreciating different cultures. I would love to have it here so that everyone can speak their native tongue and others could appreciate it. I always want to know what the French and German communities are up to (those are the most common other languages I see).
I tried it from a test account I have on another instance and it seems to work.
This was reported for being political, rule 3. Economics is highly politicized but we need to draw a line somewhere so I added a little more guidance in the sidebar. For example, a similar but less politicized phrasing might be “Capitalism and humanism both come from the same aspects of human nature” Leaving up for now. Thanks for being civil everyone.
Looking through the top voted ones i really liked: When you’re a kid, you don’t realize you’re also watching your mom and dad grow up.
Yeah that’s certainly a weakness of signing up for the fediverse (Lemmy, mastodon, etc).
You should try the quarter trick. Lay a quarter on the ground, tilt the forks forward, back up dragging the tip of the fork across the quarter and the quarter will flip up and land on the same fork. It’s odd but it works.
Added to the tally. I’m not sure if the tally is larger or smaller than I expected.
Ha I’ll add 0.5 to the count
You are the only person so far that knows someone else’s on Lemmy and you aren’t reason they joined or vis-versa
Makes sense. Thanks
Woah very cool. Excuse my ignorance but is “mutual aid” a term for helping out your neighbor? Which is something people have always done but it often sounds like when people use the term “mutual aid” it is a bit more organized. Does that ring true for you?
It’s like a far right Lemmy? Huh. Kinda like bizarro Lemmy.
I would certainly recommend picking a field of study and work for more reasons than just the money. As a counter point to your plot, I have seen small career moves result in huge pay increases.
Interesting. This is the first I heard of Gab
I just swiped to up vote you
