    I don’t get what you think that “realization” changes. I occasionally watch videos on YouTube and I’d be willing to pay a certain amount to watch to those videos without ads. Since they don’t offer that, I’m not paying them any money. For the record, they did offer such a plan called “YouTube Premium Lite” not that long ago and they axed it.

      The realization is that you can’t really remove the music part because you could just use YouTube instead of YouTube Music to listen to the music ad free > yes in theory it would be possible for YouTube to say “everything that is on YouTube Music will have ads on regular YouTube if you get “Premium Lite”” but that would just be more complicated and people would complain even more
