    Presbyterians don’t have canonized saints but if they did, Fred Rogers would probably be at the top of the list. He was a Presbyterian minister who made teaching, encouraging, and building up children his life’s work. He did it, without being condescending, by coming to them through their television sets every week. Something no one else had ever done before.

    I think when he told millions of kids, “I like you just the way you are”, he meant it. Kids need to hear that. I sure did.
