Hmm cause… It could be the battery. Or maybe the battery is fucked. If that’s not the case they could probably have a look at the battery and see if it failed.

I wish portable devices went back to being made with toolless battery swapping in mind like the old game boys.

I think I would be more okay with having to undo a screw or two as long as it was still just as easy to get the battery out. The way the Advance SP and DSs handled it. Lithium batteries are slightly more unfriendly to being handled than AAs and this is a device aimed at children. Your point stands though.

I think the New 3DS had the best implementation. The swappable backplate were cool and provided easy but child safe access to the batteries behind 2 normal Phillips screws.

Nintendo: “Well, it’s obviously not our rushed production schedule or choosing to use cheaper parts… I wonder what it could be.”

Because Nintendo jealously guards even the ideas that their IPs create. You just saw them go to the courts to make their patents be a little more vague just so they could try to take down Palworld. And they know that as long as they can corner the market on those specific experiences you’ll have to come back to them in order to get it. It’s very much like a drug dealer getting rid of other drug dealers that might come into their neighborhood so that the only drug is their drug and the only place to get it is through them.
