German Chancellor Friedrich Merz has expressed respect for Israel’s attack on Iran, calling it a service to Western allies.
“This is the dirty work that Israel is doing for all of us,” Merz said Tuesday on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Canada in an interview with German broadcaster ZDF.

Didn’t German make up am excuse early on that they can’t support Ukraine because it was at war now?
Israel never faces such obstacles no matter what it does.
Israel is very efficient at stirring shit up in a region where shit not being stirred up means an economic structure emerging changing the old balance of power.
Which means good changes similar to those during the Cold War to counter Soviet propaganda, except those good changes are bad changes for any kind of elites. Dealing with USSR the same way as with Iran now wasn’t quite on the menu, so those changes did happen.
It’s unfortunate, because it’s not as simple a choice for Israelis as it would seem. If they don’t play the shit stirring game, someone else will - Turkey or Egypt or some monarchy. And that would probably mean Israel’s destruction.
So, Germany has two very notable and frustrating geopolitical blind spots around Israel and Russia.
Like, I get it, but at the same time, all of the regimes in question have changed COMPLETELY from the 1940s, and giving former enemies - and countries that grew out of a population you genocided - carte blanche because you feel guilty about the past is just… woefully, horrifyingly reductive and shortsighted.
Oh I don’t think German politicians necessarily like Isreal I think everybody who isn’t a complete moron or paid shill knows what they’re doing is wrong, they’re just to scared of them to do anything with out big daddy USA backing them up.
Germany is fully supporting Ukraine and training their fascist battalions. Once Ukraine is defeated I’m really looking forward to all those angry freaks leaving and coming to Europe. What could go wrong?

Want to know another position I had at the beginning of the war? All soldiers on both sides should abandon all fronts, but guess what, no bourgeois politician would ever utter a phrase like that because to them you’re just a soldier or an economic unit they don’t care about you or your country. What they care about is the money they can extract from you and currently it’s just two sides fighting over who has that privilege.
