I’ve had to shoot 3 cardinals over the years for doing that. It’s funny until all you hear all afternoon, every afternoon, is thunk… tweet tweet… thunk… tweet tweet… It got to the point where one of the birds was leaving pieces of torn off skin on the window as a result of doing that for 3-4 hours every day.
The other option would have been to buy that tape that you put on your windows so the birds don’t see their reflection anymore, but I was a teenager living with my parents at the time and we couldn’t afford it. We also tried blocking off the windows with cardboard, but the bird would just move to a different window.

And the solution was to kill the birds?? Surely there is an option that is less lethal, no?
