Micro transactions in games are scams by default.

If you design a game with psychologists to maximize serotonin hits instead of gameplay and then charge money to keep getting a hit is, by definition, a deceptive act, and ergo – scam.
Using that line of reasoning, any form of advertising can be considered a scam as well.
There is no real deception involved here, it’s pretty clear what people are paying for.
