That’s part of the reason why I probably wouldn’t recommend old trek first to somebody. We don’t have the benefit of being able to go back to the cultural moment of the '60s Trek.
I compare it to how Wizard of Oz is a great movie, but you can’t really experience the transition to color that happened in the movie the same way someone in 1939 did. Plenty of TV shows were still in black and white all the way into the '60s.

My macroecon book, which was written by a guy from the Bush administration, hit us over the head with that concept.
It’s strange to thing that he’d be considered a pariah by his party’s leadership now.
People use the word incel to the point of irrelevance. If you’re having sex you’re not involuntarily celibate.
Folks online were calling Henry Cavill an incel a while back. If these guys were celibate it would be by choice. If you’re trying to criticize them in other ways, why not use the right words?
I get why they did it, but I’m not bringing cops to my door as a gotcha.
This seems like a terrible idea. Even if you’re not committing any crime why would you want cops to pay attention to you?
Wasn’t Daniel Stern willing to stop robbing the house because there’s a kid? I trust the guy who does property damage over the one who’s dead set on terrorizing and torturing a kid.
It reminds me of that story where a robber steals a car, then when he notices there’s a kid in it he turns the car around to chastise the parent for leaving the kid inside. Don’t be a thief, but if you are don’t torture kids.
