Yeah but worse labor practices.
Yeah but worse labor practices.
They always get me on higher end frozen food items I end up wanting to try, even though they’re not really a better deal than what I could get at Safeway.
The pizza is a good substitute
Wish my wife had felt this way.
Whoa TIL I’m a slut
Consoles are great if you want the same thing you can get on your computer but with worse graphics, shittier framerate, and a terrible device for input.
I think it depends on where you live. I get almost no Christian conservatives, but I live in Seattle, so they’re pretty rare here.
Lucretius (a follower of Epicurus) pointed out that if you can’t be content with just existing, getting more out of life won’t actually make you happy. Yeah, being a wage slave sucks, and we need to liberate ourselves. But we also have to learn to just be happy with being, or we’ll always be stuck running away from ourselves.
There isn’t much analogy with kosher practices. Do you know the explicit religious purpose of the hijab? It’s to maintain one’s modesty so as not to tempt men. Fuck that. Men are responsible for their own behavior. The religious purpose of the hijab is straightforward victim-blaming sexism. I won’t support a conservative, backward, oppressive practice just because it’s done by a member of a persecuted religious minority. That’s not white supremacism, that’s a basic commitment to progressive values.
I’m not saying we should ban it. In a free society people should be able to wear what they want. But we absolutely should not support it either.
Yeah. Accept Muslims and support their rights. But fuck the hijab. No one should wear that sexist trash.
Yeah, Hawaii is huge and Idaho is way smaller than it actually is, despite it being right behind Hawaii, alphabetically.
To be clear, the vast majority of academic philosophers (at least in the Anglophone world) find Freud to be useless pseudoscience. Freud gets taken seriously in literary analysis and continental philosophy. The latter is a minority position (although drawing a hard and fast line between “analytic” and “continental” philosophy is pretty difficult these days).
When I was getting my PhD in philosophy, I would have been laughed out of the room if I wrote a term paper that used Freud in any significant way.
Just a few more months and I’ll only have one and all my debt will be paid off. There’s light at the end of the tunnel!
Yeah I work four part time jobs. I’m working every single day. It is a real bummer.
Sounds like you’re making money by working hard, which is a silly way to try to make a lot of money in a capitalist system. The hint is in the name, my friend: it’s not called “workism”.
If only we lived in an economy where your hard work was proportional to your income!
The states that rely on sales taxes for most of their income are the most likely to tax the poor the most, since the poor spend more of their income.
Me after working every day for four months straight. 😑
Always felt like an increasing rush of wind to me. Like falling faster and faster.
I can’t speak for German or Chinese food, but having been to Italy, a good NYC slice beats anything the Italians have to offer.
