It makes sense that this is a limiting factor. However, I think it’s good that outside investors are kept out so that the business can serve the interests of its employees long term. Once the gears are in motion, I think it could work. Also, if these worker cooperatives were formed by people willing to work for basics like food and shelter initially, as well as equity, then they have a better chance.

I don’t know much about the Dark Ages because I haven’t played it yet. I am somewhat skeptical of the shift in tone and the introduction of melee components like shield. Doom is about blasting demons on Mars. The medival stuff is a bit weird. I actually did like Eternal though, and felt it brought back the faster gameplay that 2016 lacked.

Maybe, but I’ll tell you something. I never had much attraction to a race different than mine. However, I ended up living in another country for three years for work and over time developed a real attraction to a different race. I’ll say I was even more attracted to them than my own. I especially noticed this for a few months after returning to my own country. After a few years of being home, though I’ll say I have mostly reverted my preferences.

I guess it just showed me that attraction can be very situational and likely the more prevalent race in a country often set the beauty standards.

I think a piece of it is discoverability. Mastodon makes it hard to find stuff, or suggests the same five accounts for me to follow for months. Blue sky is easier to find stuff on. I wish something like Mastodon would win, but the numbers aren’t trending that way. Blue sky has more momentum.

Haven’t sold the 401k, will just hold through it. In my brokerage account, I was up and had been DCAing. I lost about 1/3rd of my profits before I sold it all a few weeks ago. I’m still up overall, and was holding lots of cash in the last several years anyway because I thought we were due for a big downturn. At this rate, though, I’m not really looking to buy the dip. I’m instead planning to move my money abroad and, if I can, find a better place to live than the US.

Left reddit during the API drama out of principle. I only read reddit now via 3rd party apps, I don’t contribute. I spend most of my time on Lemmy. My goal is for enough niche communities to grow here that I can give up reddit entirely.
