Are you fucking kidding me? This is the best most useless information I’ve learned in a while
Winter is Coming - Light has been my main VS Code theme for years. Alas, no senior title yet…
I accidentally left the kettle going at full-power for 6 hours after all the water evaporated once and it hasn’t been the same since…
I’ve got two monitors which mostly ends up meaning I have twice the amount of screen to lose application windows in.
My dad does the opposite of mansplaining, he explains things using terminology and concepts that are way above my level of understanding and gets frustrated when I ask too many clarifying questions or when I struggle to catch on.
It fucked with me pretty bad growing up and in an effort not to put other people through that I tend to assume people know little about esoteric subjects I’m talking about and try to explain things in a way the general layperson would understand. If they let on that they seem familiar with the subject then I adjust but I do often worry I’m coming off as being condescending :-\
And you get to hang off of the back of the truck like a bamf. That was the dream to 5yo me
In the fridge (based on a true story)
Somebody on RuneScape back in the early 2000s threatened to report me if I didn’t tell them my password and so I reluctantly told them and immediately got locked out of my free, low level account :-(
screeches in dial up internet sound effects
Do you realize that you’re justifying genocide on the pretence that people you never knew “deserved it”?
I bought a Valve Index two years ago, had fun with it for a couple weeks, then never used it again :-\
Not the original commenter but for me it was that they didn’t integrate well into my multi-device management platform and instead required you to use Sonos’s platform and products to play on multiple devices. The sound was decent but I only had one and it didn’t work with my other speakers so it rarely got used.
I do feel like the mobile app has been getting progressively buggier over the last year. Maybe it’s just me but the mini-player has been glitching out for months and other weird stuff has been getting more prevalent like yesterday I had the YouTube play button icon stretched and distorted as an overly across the whole app until I restarted it and creating a queue didn’t work until I started a new video manually.
It’s cold outside, there’s no kind of atmosphere!
I avoid Amazon whenever possible. I’d rather pay a little more and support a small online business, or better yet find what I need locally.
The crazy thing is that sometimes this just works…
I left then but forgot to join Lemmy until just last week.
After nearly a decade on Reddit, 6 months without any Reddit-like experience was kinda wild. I thought I’d feel like I’d have more time but other things just filled the doom scroll void. Once I started getting my memes from YouTube I decided it was time to try Lemmy.
If you put them in the bin, you’re going to have to take the trash out or else it’s going to stink up the house in a matter of hours. Having been a teenager myself, I can confirm that I would have done just about anything to avoid the laborious task of taking out the trash.
