I’d agree that it peaked a long time ago. I joined in 2008 or so because my teenage sons had joined. We didn’t know each other’s IDs, I wanted to know what they were interested in and found a couple communities I liked for myself. Every year it got less inclusive and the toxicity that was contained to some communities started to spill over. I had already left when the corporatization started in earnest.

That photo is the best you ever get. Or maybe a photo with snow is a bit better. The outside is gorgeous. The inside is a complete waste of time and money as it wasn’t finished. It was a vanity project not a real castle.

Very little. I’ve always wanted to be paid for the work I do so I have always paid others for the work they have done for me. If I couldn’t afford to pay for it, I didn’t steal it instead.

They are…billionaires. That is the common denominator of horrible people. They think that because they are rich beyond measure that their opinions should rule the world. The world would be a much much better place if we were rid of the pestilence of the billionaire class and maybe the ‘$100s of millions’ class. No one gets to being a billionaire by being completely honest, law abiding, fair, moral and ethical. Rules must be ignored in the quest for superlative riches. Those rules are only for those who haven’t become rich enough to ignore them. Even if they seem like benign benefactors, scratch the surface and you will find they are, without exception, evil.

Yep. I had one who would never stray far and didn’t want to cross the road without my say so until they were about 10. The other as soon as they were able to walk/run would high tail it to the nearest roadway the second your gaze wavered. Trying to convince my MIL that we weren’t abusive but just trying to keep our child alive until they knew better and could be reasoned with, was an ordeal. And holding their hand wasn’t much of an option because they would pull hard enough to dislocate their elbow. They also hated strollers or backpacks so that was not a viable option.

They didn’t heed the warning of Pillow Guy’s demise. There many big US businesses that are going to hurt badly in the coming months and years - all thanks to their support of Trump. It’s wonderful.

Can attest. Just visited Norway and although I wanted to eat authentic Norwegian cuisine, pizza was everywhere. Easier to find than seafood and I was staying in a port city.

If anyone were really worried about privacy, all internet related companies would be in bankruptcy. Apple? Meta? Google? SnapChat? Reddit? You name it, their whole purpose is collecting the personal data of their users.

This would seem more accurate to me if it said “Grandparents at 25”. I’m the 25yo parent’s age and for us, people were already considering whether they could afford 1 or 2 children with mortgage and childcare costs. I guess if we had the big screen TVs, cellphones stronger than computers, gaming computers, and cheap airfare around the world, many of us would have also decided parenting was much too expensive.

Maybe someone should out her as an illegal alien.

Please people, if you are going to look at stock prices, look back a year, two, or more. Reddit was slightly up from its 5 year point when in October 2024, like many other stocks, it wildly went up. It isn’t yet back down to the pre-October level. Someone (Musk and fellow billionaires?) have been playing these markets since the last US election to game money out of everyone else. There was no value in the business to justify the jump, just a pump and dump scheme to graft money out of the lower classes/pension portfolios.

Enjoy your leave. You obviously have the sense to know that you are taking it for: your wife, your child and your mental health. You will give your family a better head start. Corporate won’t notice. If they are going to fire you, they’ll do it even if you had spent the time period working double overtime instead of being on leave.

Well they aren’t likely to be the scientists, doctors, and other highly skilled intellectuals that other countries would gladly welcome as Ex-Americans.
