Banger of a theme song too.
There’s been a lot of talk/news over at the Europe community about how a lot of Canadians want to join the EU. Not that I think it’s likely, so it was just a little silly joke.
I thought the bigger goal was to break free from the US hegemony as much as anything. If I’m way out of line in this thinking then the mods are free to remove this post.
Never heard of it, but will look it up for sure.
Never heard of them either. Slightly disappointed that they redirect to google-maps instead of a more free alternative. Will check them out though.
Daily I think. It’s an automated thing.
You can see some stats here.
If you want to get your favourite Linux distro anonymously, then you can torrent it via i2p.
Obsidian isn’t European, but Canadian. Also it’s “local first” so all your files are on your machine. There’s a sync functionality that you can buy, or you can sync it yourself.
I’d give it a go. Plenty of plugins that can do pretty much whatever you want, including kanban boards, project management tasks, etc.
So if we can just get Canada into the EU it’ll be a European product. ;)
I’m using Obsidian. That’s Canadian. Very good editor/PKM in my humble opinion.
MagicEarth is the european version of Waze.
SepiaSeach will search a large number of instances for content. Not a bad start for peertube. But I do agree that it’s hard to find good content there.
For maps I’d also like to add Organic Maps, OsmAnd and Magic Earth.
Something that’s fairly easy to fix. But I get what you’re saying.
However, if you want to help, just log in to openstreetmap and fix it.
That might be an issue with the source data, ie OpenStreetMap.
Doesn’t collect anything in offline mode, does it?
Either way, both are awesome in their own right. ME for car navigation, OM for everything else.
And then StreetComplete to help them both. :-)
Agree with all your other points, but is Organic Maps actually more private?
This seems pretty fair to me.

Also, how to you get a new paragraph in the old.lemmy.world UI?
Happy to help. It’s not as polished as Waze, but it gets the job done. Maybe more users will improve it still.
StreetComplete is awesome. I’ve been using it for well over a year now and it’s my go-to app for “playing outside”. To do some of the tasks you probably need the “Street measure” app as well.
I’ve met the artist. She’s lovely.
