I’m always hesitant to daily drive non-stable but you may be right. I played around with an early Alpha and it was pretty nice but also pretty bare bones.
I’m in the same situation. I’ve been a Linux user in some form for many years but I’m just now getting to the daily driver desktop stage. I’m trying to work out all the little nuances in migrating from macOS/iCloud. I’m doing it with Pop because that’s the distro that has felt the most natural to me. However, I’m finding that some of the apps don’t support my cloud syncing needs adequately (e.g., Calendar, Contacts, Reminders). Part of it is just finding the right cloud provider but I’m also. hoping the new COSMIC apps have better CalDAV and CardDAV support. At this point it’s just minor things so here’s hoping for a bit better results with the newer version. It’s Linux, though, so I’m sure I can find a solution.
No, but thanks.
Thanks for posting this! As an American who dislikes the big tech here, these are helpful in knowing what’s beyond our borders. I had never heard of Infomaniak before you posted! I currently use Proton but I’m not happy with the ability of their calendar and contacts to integrate with my underlying system. I’ve also been looking at mailbox.org to expand my capabilities there.
Built rather than bought? I’m guessing. I was wondering if you were using a System76 system.
I have it on a 3700X with a 3060, but that’s not my main system. Right now I’m working the migration mostly on a Dell Latitude I grabbed from work.
