8 days agoYeah the more people the better so its easier to have a class action lawsuit.
Also for me I’m using a text expander so that after I type a shortcut it automatically adds the rest of the text for me.

51·8 days agoI was able to solve the problem. Instead of downloading it from the Software Manager I installed it from the terminal instead.
When I installed it from the software manager it didn’t download one of the packages (org.gnome.platform/44) but when I did it from the terminal it did.
Thx though.
Edit: Yeah it was a flatpak.
12·8 days agoI think it is more important to have a non-commercial tag/license added.
I mostly mention that to fend off the people that use the main basis of their argument as the effectiveness because that’s not why I’m doing it.
I do think it could work legally if the courts want to remain consistent, but that isn’t guaranteed.
yeah they were. I hope more people start doing it even if it doesn’t legally hold water its still a good way to show that fediverse users won’t stand for that.

I saw this video on here sometime ago and thought it brought up a great alternative that still lets people experience these things for free and lets artists still get paid:
Agreed. Once you start blocking culture to only those who can afford it you start losing culture once it becomes unprofitable.
22·22 days agoI’d probably use it to terraform certain urban and suburban places to be more hospitable to wildlife and humans living together. Like guerilla gardening and banksy mixed together.
Funnily enough the person that made this video had a little controversy on the vape-o-nomics video when he was talking about how subscription services were bad but then immediately pivoted towards an ad read for a subscription service.
Eventually it was removed (without a comment talking about, it happened silently) but still this stuff reaches everyone eventually.
How does it make the decision to recommend one post over another using the data it collects? Also does it treat all that data differently when ranking posts?
btw it feels really well polished so nice job.
Is it possible for you to use a mbin server instead? I think it is a fork that has more active development going on around it.

No clue.
My theories:
- A lot of people like threads.net
- They don’t like I asked for a source
- Or they don’t like the copyleft license
Because that’s literally all the information my comment gives.
Good that threads.net is in top 50 but I would’ve liked to see it higher. Right now it is at 39th place.

I guess my question is progress towards what? I mean no one’s gonna stop you its your own computer do what you want.
For me though it just isn’t worth the risk.
I mean sure but if you get hacked (which will eventually happen to someone if this is rolled out) just having the information stored in the first place becomes a risk. So I think it is better to not have it in the first place.

Well on firefox/chrome extensions you can search for text expander and choose an extension that works for you.
Or if you are using a phone you can do the same on the app store and I think there should be a few options.
Once you download one of them it should give instructions on how to use it, but in general it asks you to create a phrase that you want to be automatically triggered and a shorter phrase that automatically replaced with the longer phrase.
For example-
long phrase: The quick brown fox jumped over the moon.
short phrase: /qfox
and every time you typed /qfox it would replace it with “The quick brown fox jumped over the moon.”
