Thanks! I wish the developers at Meta could afford something similar.

Not the end of the world, but out of the few apps that don’t fit in the ‘pretty much everything’ group, messenger is one of them and I can’t share a good bunch of memes on Lemmy with my friends because of that. I usually end up screenshotting my own screen because of that.
Well, on the other hand, medicine learned a lot… /s
It sounds fun at first but imagine the amount of heart attacks and other horrible Mengele level fuckups.
“You don’t suppose he meant the Camauuuugh?”
I may check some out, thanks for the examples!
I’ve been thinking about something similar (as someone who isn’t a fan of rap/hip-hop). No matter how much I don’t like it (the actual music behind it is too bland for me), it has the greatest potential to deliver deep lyrics with puns and other wordplay.
But then it got me thinking: What the HELL is holding us back from improving the other genres’ lyrics, or actually slapping some decent music on top of rap/hip-hop music, and not just some bland base or short and repetitive catchy tune?
I love how nobody said any restrictions and the AI started to solve the classic puzzle already. It could as well be a boat with a cage on it, or at least a leash. EDIT: or a tame/chill wolf. EDIT 2: I’m silly, there isn’t even a wolf. Just embark with the goat ffs
I used to recommend the owl to everyone back when the discussions were free to access to anyone. Now that they hid it behind the paywall, there’s no explanation at all why a certain word would be the right (or wrong) answer, how you would use the word in other situations or any other interesting fact. Without the discussions (plus the way they re-structured the Spanish course, setting me back and making it even longer), DL is just a dragged out beginner’s vocabulary. I guess it’s still okay for the very basics, but I don’t really feel I have learnt much in two months.
You can turn off stuff that the programmers allow you to through a settings menu (that they wrote), configuration files (that they make their program to read) or fiddling 3rd party stuff that it’s using (like your driver settings, external libraries, etc.).
Similarly to how GTA V’s (could be GTA Online) extreme loading time was caused by a very inefficient way of loading data. Users couldn’t change the algorithm themselves; they could investigate what was going on, but the developers were the only ones being able to actually change it to a recommended version.
Obviously the story is a bit different with an open source code which you can compile for yourself.
Makes me wonder how many seconds till they realise the users won’t be able to tell if the game is still loading or it’s just monetised delay. Bonus points if a user finds out, lobbies to get it banned and then they just include bullshit extra processing to justify it.
The future looks so bright.
I’m probably ootl: why June specifically?
A few days ago some random guy got into an argument with the other team. He wrote two sentences, ~5-6 words each. The other guy was complaining that he “wrote a paragraph”. I’m really trying to hold back my inner “these kids nowadays” grandpa but some days are a bit harder.
I’m just secretly hoping that the term ‘astrocomb’ comes from Spaceballs.
Whenever I have to edit a text file when nauseous, I just vom it.
Everything is doing it already. Good luck watching a “horizontal” video uploaded to Instagram from your desktop browser.
Like it was impossible for websites to display properly. Especially when you want to watch the horizontal video that was uploaded to a vertical based site on a horizontal monitor (I’m looking at you, Instagram). Then you’re left with ~9% of your monitor area and you can’t even read the fucking text on the video.
I understand that you need to adapt when most people watch videos on phones now, but forcing people to install an app just to get all your user data is a pretty scummy move. Also, I may want to use my PC instead for a multitude of reasons.
Chocolate brownie.
Insomnium. Beautiful, melodic solos, decent riffs.
