  • Every social media platform with a feed uses some system to rank content for its individual users. This can be abused to subtly influence users.

    You say TikTok has never harmed you but the truth is you probably wouldn’t know. You just changed your mind about certain things over time.

    That problem is certainly not specific to TikTok and I personally avoid also YouTube, Reddit or anything Facebook but it’s not hard to believe that a Chinese or Russian platform is even less hesitant to influence elections, for example.

    “The world” back then also was something like a town and its surrounding villages. It probably just rained really heavy for a few days, flooded some village in a way that never happened before and the only explanation was “God’s wrath”.

    I believe most of religious stories can be explained by people talking shit.

    learning programming is BORING

    Then it’s not for you. No shame in that. I don’t understand the notion that everyone is supposed to be a coder now.

    If anything, the low-level coding part is something AI models may well make obsolete relatively soon. Unlike any craftsmanship - why not learn masonry or carpentry instead?
