  • As far as I’ve seen their argument is usually something along the lines of “The West is so antagonistic, of course they have to cozy up to Russia. They’re pretty much the only country not trying to destroy them.”

It’s all bullshit of course. In reality it’s almost always just Campism. North Korea opposes the Great SatanUS therefore they must be good. Any evil they’ve done has to be actually our fault and not any kind of evil or corruption from them.

Notice how the lines the 7/10" is attached to go from one side of the miniature globe to the other? This indicates that measurement is meant to be a diameter. Looking back at the paragraph before he talks about 0.35" being Earth’s Schwarzschild Radius. Radius is half of diameter so doubling that radius you get 0.7 or 7/10" across at which the Earth would become a black hole.

That’s what that mini diagram is showing.

Yeah I’m a bit too naive maybe but even at the time I couldn’t imagine him actually throwing Kyle under the bus. So it always read to me like Jack was trying to make sure some MAGA psycho didn’t come shoot a bunch of people at one of their shows and he didn’t actually have a real problem with what Kyle said. I’m glad they are actually back performing together.

  • It’s not a failure in the usual sense we think about it, no. You were still “technically wrong” in whatever hypothesis you had that was disproven. But the end result is different because theoretically everyone involved cares more about the answer being found, not necessarily that they are the one to do it.

Hell, in cases where whatever you did was later proven incorrect it’s usually that whatever you did was the most correct answer for the information we had at the time. Then new information is discovered and often someone else builds off what you did to get this new answer.

  • That’s always been my view on these subjects as a parent. Especially considering all 3 of my kids have autism and have a tendency to not follow rules at all if the rule doesn’t make sense to them.

Like seriously my father was the perfect example of this shit. The amount of times he’d bully me about not trying to have sex with any of my female friends while simultaneously saying “not in my house you won’t” is crazy.

Your “resources” were one opinion piece in an Australian tabloid and two complete non sequitur links about the opioid crisis. Are there pill mills giving stimulants to anyone with a pulse? Sure. Doesn’t take away from the efficacy of the medications. And it certainly doesn’t mean that the advances in actually diagnosing a disorder is secretly an evil pharmaceutical cabal out to get kids hooked on speed. Gtfo
