You know what? I didn’t believe you, since I’m using it for a long time on Linux and never had any issues with it. Today, when I helped a friend (on Windows) with some SFTP transfer and recommended FileZilla was the first time I realised the official Downloads page provides Adware. The executable even gets flagged by Microsoft Defender and VirusTotal. That’s actually REALLY bad. Isn’t FileZilla operated by Mozilla? Should I stop using it, even though the Linux versions don’t have sketchy stuff? It definitely leaves a really bad taste.
People don’t use FileZilla for server management anymore? I feel like I’ve missed that memo.
God I hate what the modern Internet does to my brain. I had to double check if that laptop is AI generated
I dont think the community is generally against AI, there’s plenty of FOSS projects. They just don’t like cashgrabs, enshittification and sending personal data to someone else’s computer.
I mean, it’s better to have to many comments than not enough
didn’t this already exist?
Well you can, but there only are quite hacky approaches like
I believe you can buy a dummy HDMI plug and use Deskreen to host the screen in a webserver. This should work, but I don’t think it’s a good solution.
Edit: Deskreen seems to no longer be maintained and therefore doesn’t support wayland. I think it’s because of the Ukrainian war, and the creator being directly affected by it.
Okay, yeah, fck Microsoft at that point. ouch.
I doubt this is just inflation, 40$ is crazy Although, games are expensive af nowadays.
Dude, come on, there really was enough time to migrate
yes, you will. although i tend to use the german pronunciation, “Sahtah”.
that’s surprisingly similarly to the german pronunciation of ch.
I tried it on a real old vista laptop once and it ran terrible, but so did everything that wasnt XFCE. But a core 2 duo might be able to run it acceptably. I say give it a try :)
I currently use a Thinkpad L540. Durable af, but really big and thiccc. The screen viewing angles are super bad though, along with the trackpad being kind of weird.
Before I started, I already had some experience with python for simple scripts and Discord bots. I also watched a lot of tutorials for Godot, but I quickly lost interest in Godot because at the time I felt like I wasn’t ready for stuff this complex. I also felt like Phaser3 isn’t really beginner-friendly either, because of there not being a lot of ressources. The one’s that exist are pretty meh. The official docs don’t have examples or good explanations, and the official examples are confusing to navigate and it’s hard to find what you need. In terms of JS, it was similar enough to python for me to understand the basics, so that was pretty okay.
Apart from that, I had a good amount of knowledge for GIMP and VSC to use them properly.
At the start I wanted to create a way different game, but I quickly realised that my idea was way too simple, and done already so many times that it’s hard to do anything unique with it.
But after a few days of coding, it became easier and easier, because I realised how similar my ideas were to implement. Or it was the other way around, that I came up with ideas that I knew how to implement, idk.
TLDR: Didn’t really have a plan, tried out different game ideas, and further developed ideas for the current game simultaneously while learning how to implement ideas.
Yeah, thank you. English ain’t my first language
