The countries not controlled by terrorist groups are stable. The unstable countries are extremists who have been waging war on other countries in the region for 100s of years and despite all attempts at diplomacy are still hell bent on destroying anyone who is a different sect than them. Revolt could be good as a local family group chat if you like the discord style. You’ve probably already tried it but Pixelfed/mastodon/misskey sound like the easiest to get family on board with and seem like they would be good family social media platforms IMO.

Now I’m even more confused. Why would I want edit old versions of a file like that. The article compares the file snapshot to having a copy of that file but I wouldn’t have a copy. There has to be some performance overhead from doing all this unnecessary storing and changing of files compared to normal reading and writing?

This was the first Visual Novel game I played and it was engaging from beginning to end. Very fun “coop” game to play with a non gamer friend. I’d highly recommend it.
