I think we’re going to get a strange three tiered internet, one where you have the mainstream social media platforms etc, one that is just AI SEO bot hell and one that is buried and only really used by enthusiasts. (For example, IRC isnt dead yet not by a long shot but its entirely technical people now using it).

This won’t work at all, children will begin finding even more shady corners of the internet to get around blocks & I doubt any enforcement action will actually impact the big players, this is just killing off small British websites. Doubt it, there are bots everywhere these days who’ll try anything they find. Its part of why having 2FA is important along with hidden accounts with things such as jellyfin.

Its gotten worse, its in many ways a product of its time wherein the internet was truly a wild west with few rules. Im not entirely sure what to think of its legacy if this does kill it, I don’t think 4Chan was purely bad not by a long shot and ultimately those who used it will find other places to exist but I will gladly admit that that website has been responsible for some horrific shit.
