People keep asking me, and I haven’t really had an answer, but now yeah, I’m thinking I’m back.
energy/efficiency advances
I thought it would be Swen making the comment, happily surprised to see it’s someone else at Larian.
I use mullvad and qbittoerrent as well, but I’m not savvy enough to have noticed any leakage. Hence my interest.

But who is really at fault for the tariffs that are screwing over small businesses and homeowners? Definitely not the people that will be relying on those services if they end up in police custody.
Good for you for keeping your eye on the ball. “Flood the zone” as a strategy is super effective at distracting people from the sources of the world’s true woes. And props for doing your research and coming to your own conclusion. So many voters either don’t have the ability, or the capacity, to do it. And it’s so important for people to do it despite the setbacks. So thanks for looking after your community.
Also called a “mill rate” it’s a tax on a property on per-$1000 basis (per mille) of assessed value.
If you own a house assessed at $150,000, and you have a mill rate of 20, you pay 20x150 per year, that’s $3,000.
I mean I enjoy CS2 as well but I can’t deny it had pretty major performance problems. It’s gotten better over time but launch day was a disaster.
I’m extremely surprised that so many comments like FC5. What makes it the favorite over FC3? I know everyone loves to compare the villains of the franchise, and I think Vaas is far more compelling than the FC5 villain.

Sorry, the sarcasm didn’t come through. My joke was that no software is perfect because software is constantly evolving as people’s needs and desires change.
Clown on JS all you like, but if git was perfect within a week of creation, why does it receive updates? 🤔
LibreOffice will function perfectly fine for a single user taking classroom notes, or making a presentation, or a spreadsheet, or what have you. You might notice it crash occasionally, but in the dozen or so times it crashed on me, it has a 100% success rate at recovering the file. It’s kind of remarkable.
Misskey has a massive Japanese population in part because it was written by Japanese speakers.
On the one hand, one of the things we often tout about the Old Internet was the ability for anyone to run their own website, forum, blog, etc, free from corporatization. On the other hand, running your website is a responsibility on your part, and in the convenience-focused Internet we have now, seems to be a forgotten lesson.
On the third, mutant hand growing out of our back, fedi software should be designed with security-by-default, i.e. no open registration, to prevent the forgotten lesson from being a huge problem.
