I didn’t use it before USB drives cause we usually used laplink to transfer big file collections…

I was using briefcase in 2001 or so. You probably could have used it with a zip drive or superdisk before that. But

I hated floppies. I lost so much data on them. They were very unreliable. I actually lost an internship because a floppy failed when I was trying to use it. Rather than blaming the person who was stupid enough to rely on a floppy as the SOLE location of that info, they blamed me. It held AutoCAD drawings that were going in and out of a machine shop. I’m still bitter.

I used this all the time with a portable drive in college. I could work on my personal computer (not a laptop), then finish working in the school computer lab and print stuff out.

I spent months redoing my bathroom. I moved a wall, re-routed plumbing installed a new tub, and tiled. So much tiling. I ripped some out I was so pissed at how it went in. I still see every spot that I didn’t like.

After that experience I went into the bathroom at my work and looked at the tiling in there. The tiles directly in front of the unrinal I’ve been peeing in for 6+years. They were way worse than some of the stuff I was fussing over, and I never noticed.

Give yourself credit for finishing the fucking job. Learn to not make the same mistakes, and go out and make new mistakes to learn from.

In college we had a spot we would go to, sold Chinese and donuts, so that’s what we called it. Actually pretty good Chinese and they would Stuff the Togo clamshell absolutely full. I also got at a minimum two meals, usually 3, though the 3rd was just based on the fried rice, just add an egg and whatever other leftovers I could scrounge up.

If you have no idea about the band, it may seem like a challenge. Like some middle aged guy chasing you. Really I think it’s just people reaching out trying to connect with fellow humans. Some do it shittily, sure. But the impulse in its purist is to make a friend.
