They charge only those who are not technically literate enough to transfer to Linux. Cracking Windows is a piece of cake but if someone can’t do that they probably will not switch.

Windows is already basically free using the user as a product
Only after Microsoft bought it tho
I tried it -> couldn’t figure out how to get rid off vertical tabs -> uninstalled -> installed Librewolf

I was disgusted by Riot adding kernel level 24/7 spyware. That was the last straw for me solidifying my decision to quit League. After a month I’ve installed Linux on another SSD and had so much more fun with it than in LoL. It can be a little bit frustrating but that’s also why I played LoL and it’s so much healthier dose of frustration. Eight months daily driving Linux, 5 months completely clean of LoL, social life improved a LOT and a question of a scholarship is now how high and not if.
Surpsingly a lot of adults play Roblox. I dislike the game but I was asked multiple times by my older peers to play Roblox.
KDE is just KDE. It has clear pros and cons. Hopefully one day they will take care of the cons.
I still turn it on every few months. It’s helpful to make sure that kernel works fine and it’s just my VGA port making trouble. Also some beta stuff doesn’t work on Linux. When friends call me to play a game that doesn’t work properly after a quick install I don’t have the time to search on forums. If someone could tell me how to run pirated Hades II I would be glad. It only start up once and 2nd time it crashes. I’m not gonna pay 30€ for it nor finish it in one breath.
Dunno. Me and a friend had issues with Wayland, so we switched to X11 and that’s already like forty percent of Linux community.
It’s for wh€n you hat€ someth*ng so much that you treat it as a sluπ. If you don’t like it that’s fine but as people who dislike pizzacake should do move on or block it.
I have 0 bytes per year. I will not pay for something pointless.
It’s just UTF-8
I don’t. Only black & white nail polish and light make up so far.
It only asks you to restart?
Heck I didn’t even know Lemmy existed a week ago. Nothing is worse than not knowing. Curious people will check it out and if they like it they will stay. It would be better with a link to a beginner guide but it’s still for the better.
By reddit? There are many LGBTQ+ subreddits, so I find it weird. Or is it a new thing with USA burning?
When I started 9 ago I somehow managed to destroy my Debian install (specifically the Wayland session) when I tried to install Genshin Impact. Now I play happily play Genshin on my Mint. But my starting philosophy was: Better break it now before I put too much time into it.
