I think there’s something deeper to not being able to remember them, like the brain not writing memories of them or something. Then again, my memory is particularly bad and some aspects of it are completely non-functional, so that could explain my experience.
As far as I am aware it is confirmed that the far-right Israeli parties provided funding to Hamas in order to excuse their own crimes. They probably didn’t plan that particular attack, but they’ve been working on the genocide (and the excuses for it) for a long time.
I really liked Reddit, getting a lot of value out of the content posted there by people. And I met some cool people through it.
I never got banned from it myself, but as time went on it was very clear that the company in charge of the platform was not steering things in a good direction, and was not responsible for the value I liked. They just captured the value by being the place where people posted. They really drove that point home when they locked off the API, and I completely quit Reddit at that point, migrating to Lemmy instead.
I definitely feel that Lemmy doesn’t have as much value collected on it yet compared to Reddit. There’s just not as many people posting and generating that value. But, it is free of that sort of draconian control that Reddit has. Not just temporarily free, as a favor from venture capital to draw people in. Permanently free. So, if we build up the value of Lemmy by having more people post here, we will be able to enjoy that value free from the corpo BS.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk. :P
How many sharks are bitten by New Yorkers each year?
Trade names with the Gulf and become the United States of Mexico.
I didn’t watch The Game Awards myself, I mostly just know what I’ve heard about it being more of an industry advertising event rather than a real awards ceremony. And from what I’ve seen of this year’s they aired an obvious AI art trailer and they snubbed ZZZ for the music category, so they’re just reinforcing my lack of respect for them.
It’s hard to tell which of my memory issues are from ADHD and which are from other neurodivergences.
One of my friends had this take on it:
Die Hard can’t be a Christmas movie because Die Hard is actually good.
Easy. High taxes on the rich and spend that money to give good universal social programs, and also avert climate catastrophe. The tiny fraction of rich people will disapprove but screw them anyways.
The hard part is getting the political will to do the obvious right thing when politics is controlled by the rich.
NZXT Flex customers have never experienced a pre-tax subscription price increase and will never experience one unless they decide to switch subscription tiers.
I think they’re forgetting the part where GN themselves were a NZXT flex customer who experienced subscription price increases. So this statement is already proven to be false before they even said it.
IMO they should have put their money into making it good before pushing it on users so aggressively, instead of apparently never since it’s been years and they still haven’t made the user experience good.
