Not a dev, but I work with them. It’s often the product manager that pushes an ignore everything but chrome so we can ship more features. I’ve seen devs argue and lose on such things.

Why worry about the downvoters. This isn’t reddit yet.
Customer focused companies. A middle ground between non-profit and for profit.
Honestly, is that different here? Dogpiling is the rage everywhere. It’s better than reddit, but you still have a hard time if you even question something that follows the dominant ideology here. And God forbid you actually read any of the articles people post and point out that commenter’s are just making shit up to fit that ideology.
Insurance is why. They can sell insulin at the prices they currently do, and still sell it to millions. Insurance companies can in turn charge more overall as well, pointing at the cost of insulin and the millions who need it as one of the reasons. So it is win win for both the buyer (Insurance) and the seller.
Yes, but they want money. So why deny us teeth when they can let us have teeth for money. They can make more selling it to millions of people then a few rich people.
Most of current medicine falls into the same cayegory. Like allergy shots. Trail and error. Most diagnosis by general practitioners are just, "well people who report X, usually have Y. And bacterial vs viral… just a gut feel based on past patients who either responded well to antibiotics or not. Never mind that the vast majority never report back even.
It isn’t really about time, it’s about energy.
Apparently they are suprised to learn that I don’t magically gain empathy over time. I was born with only a few shits to give per day, and that number ain’t going up.
I grow weary of all the attempted comparisons between streaming and cable. Even if it cost the same (streaming is still cheaper), you don’t have to call a tech to fix the dvr, which will wipe all your recordings… or pay per tv you own, rather than the number you are actually using. Of and you can watch it when you aren’t even home. Streaming is sooo many 1000’s % better than cable in soo many ways. Is it enshitifing, he’ll yeah. But still way better.
Sadly… probably not much different if you got the help. My kid has all the help there is, since we know what it is like. The help isn’t very effective until they reach the age of reason.
1 - yes 2 - more internal filter, better able to start tasks and focus 3 - slightly less hungry maybe 4 - much less effective then stems, but consistent throughout the day.
So what is the stack overflow replacement?
Yeah, it is a mouth peice the pulls your lower jaw forward, opening your airway. I am trying one now. Only been two weeks though, so too early to know if it will work for me.
Do you have to hold your phone “further” away to see it? No? Then you haven’t crossed the line yet. You are like the roller coaster after it has crested the hill, the backend is still holding on, but you are starting to see where you are heading.
With all the news about AI… maybe someone can get an AI model that can fix the damn sound so I can hear the words…
I bite my thumb at you.
And which salem… lol. (I know which you mean, but there are others too. Very few names in the US aren’t used many times.)
Yep I see that too. Not sure if the reader app plays any role in this, but I don’t think so.
And whatever you do, ask them the same questions. I prefer, “I don’t know, what about you?” That will usually kill the follow ups.
