  • When I was a little kid I asked my grandfather one time what it was like to “fight evil”. His response was something along the lines of “I didn’t fight evil. They were just a bunch of scared kids doing what they were told. Just like me.”

My grandfather fought in Europe, but Japan was still what kicked off WWII. So, I was super nervous about bringing home the woman that would become my first wife for the first time. Her family was from Okinawa.

When we got there he sat down at the kitchen table and talked to her for a long time. I was in and out doing stuff for the dinner, but they looked happy enough. Later that day he caught me outside and gave me a hug. He told me that she was a good woman and I’d be crazy if I didn’t marry her.

I really miss my grandfather. He was mostly a good dude.

Here’s a picture of him during the battle of the bulge. It’s from a book I have, but this picture was originally published in “Yank” magazine. The original clipping sat over his chair in the living room my entire life.

I thought it was Steven Seagal.

I only know 2 things about Steven Seagal.

    1. Steven Seagal is a Russian shill.

    2. One time Gene LeBell choked Steven out so hard, that Steven Seagal shit his pants.

Those are the only 2 things I know, and need to know about Steven Seagal.

  • Most western RPGs work off of some type of D&D rules. This game does not. Instead of AC, spell resistance, and saving throws. Armor and trinkets give you physical damage HP, and magical damage HP. This is very different for people familiar with the genre.

There is a steep difficulty curve just outside of the beginning area. When you are level 2 to about 4 you are often out numbered and out gunned by enemies of the same or one lvl higher. It’s a balancing issue that turns away a lot of new players.

Gold is scarce. I’m pretty far in the game and gold is scarce. Also, gear is expensive. This means you are really at the mercy of the randomized loot situation from chests.

These are just 3 issues I can think of off the top of my head. But, if you still don’t believe me or want more reasons just google “why is divinity original sin 2 so hard”. You’ll find a bunch of posts with a bunch of comments like “get gud”. You’ll also find a few helpful comments.

  • Man, I was a preteen when this game came out. This was the game that made me love RPGs. It’s also the game that every RPG had to live up to moving forward.

It had everything. It was long, and girthy. That’s to say it was a lengthy game with a lot of content. It was veiny. Hehehe I’m just fucken with you now.

But in all seriousness it had hidden characters. It had backstories for the characters that you had to revisit. It had enemies that were disgusting yet human. All the important characters were 3 dimensional.

The game even had a quasi multiplayer mode!!!

    Get Fucked Breath of Fire.

This game is a god damn masterpiece.

  • First of all this is a comic with animals in it. There is nothing positive about what’s happening, and only a moron would think that it’s ok to do that in the real world. On top of that if a sheep or chicken sees this comic they won’t understand.

However, if you made a comic with slavery as you suggested. If the oppressed people depicted in the comic were to see it. It could cause someone discomfort. You know since humans can understand and put together concepts using a series of still images, and animals can’t.

So, you can take your racist tendencies somewhere else. Because, they aren’t welcome here.

  • I would also like to point out that in many stories I am far from the main character. I am simply someone that was present for something unusual. For instance, One time I accidentally hung out with a murderer a few days after he killed, but a few days before he turned himself in. He only told me this once we were alone, and he went into great detail. I’m not the main character in that one. It’s just told from my perspective.

  • While I agree at least from a philosophical standpoint. I am related to too many cops. My uncle was the captain of the Birmingham police Dept. He was the last person to arrest MLK jr. before MLK assassinated. I have worked with cops. I was the bouncer at a bar and we hired cops on the weekend. Those cops were notorious for letting underage chicks in if they were hot. Also, one of the main groups that hung out at that bar were 1% motorcycle club, most of which were local cops. One time a friend flipped off a driver that almost ran us over. The driver came back and told us he was the mayor of the town and his son was chief of the police. He left and the cops showed up. They threatened us with batons and tasers. They arrested my friend for disturbing the peace. I once had a cop choke me while I was handcuffed because he couldn’t find “the dope”. Yet I can say that out of all the interactions I’ve had with cops only one was beneficial. I had a cop drive me home one night when I was walking home drunk.

So, no one should be presumed guilty until proven innocent. My experience tells me that cops are all pieces of shit and are not here for my or anyone else’s benefit, unless you have money.

Oh yeah! I almost forgot. I have a cousin that was a retired deputy. He shot and killed his drug addicted son in cold blood because he was tired of him begging. The county he was a deputy with investigated it and deemed it self defense.

  • I am a case study in what happens when you just go with it to an extreme. I’ve been thinking about starting a community where I share stories about things I’ve done, things that happened to me, and more importantly the people I’ve met. I’ve been to Nepal and Tibet with a new age cult. I was a homeless heroin addict for over a decade. I was a racist piece of shit until I met an hiv infected gay man that took the time to teach me about empathy, and I am eternally grateful for the lessons he taught me.

I have tons of stories like this one and more. Far far crazier ones. My mom died when I was 7 and my dad worked a whole bunch of overtime and dated a lot. I didn’t really have parents. So I collected parental figures. One was a single dad biker that looked like captain Jack sparrow, but it was the 90’s. He made dinner for me every night. That way when I left night college I had a hot meal. He passed away last week.

I had a mother figure that was like a female early cuyler from squidbillies. She was red neck as fuck and always had a .38 revolver with her. She got me my first checking account. She also sold me Xanax.

  • I used to run a very successful server for BioWare Neverwinter Nights back in the early 2000s. A guy started playing on there when he was 15 and met a married woman in her 30s. She got divorced and a few days after he turned 18 he flew out to meet her.

They got married about 12 or 13 years ago. I was the best man, and they are still married. I talk to them daily and usually see them weekly. It happens.
