One of Steam’s selling point to developers is that it has easy DRM tools for them to use. Bethesda probably added their own DRM on top of Steam’s. But no for profit company is going to let you pirate software they spent thousands or millions to developed.

Good luck, there is DRM on almost every peace of software you buy. Most of it you never notice but it is there. I am guessing Id Bethesda Microsoft went a little too hard on their DRM and didn’t learn from EAs blunder. If you want new and better games I think you need to start supporting indie games and projects like Godot that make indie game development possible.
