  • Proton is very gaming on Linux friendly, i main on Linux for a few decades now and had about 3-4 games not work. So i wouldn’t worry about that, however lightroom (and i assume the rest of adobe suit) is out. Couldn’t find a way to install it sensibly at all. Which is unfortunate. The backup for this for me was to use an old android tablet and sometimes id use the work mac out of hours to do some post-processing.

But the rest doesn’t matter much, i personally like Manjaro but the distro doesn’t really matter.

The underlying issue is not teacher pay, but rather the number of teachers available to support pupils at a ratio that allows pupils to learn and engage with material they need to know.

Now the answer to how to get more teachers and smaller classrooms, paying teachers more to encourage more people working as teachers is reasonable. But hardly the one thing that will fix everything with magic.

Students need more engagement time with their teachers and a class of 30-40 would never allow that during a lesson

  • If you don’t want to be called there to always it support it, go for off the shelf solution. Both qnap and Synology offer the same. When i looked half a year ago, i saw Synology as being more expensive at the time so went with ts464 qnap.

Qnap do provide a roadmap of support for older devices. So you have an idea how long they will remain supported for.
