  • Can we take a minute to appreciate the bookstore that this is happening at?

It’s called McNally Robinson. It’s based in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It has previously expanded into places like New York city, but I believe now only operates out of Winnipeg .

It is a phenomenal bookstore that does wonders for local artists giving them platforms they otherwise would not get.

    Great story all around.

ETA, I’d recognize that logo anywhere, been driving by it my whole life.

  • I do this with my daughter while waiting for her therapy appointment. We sit in the park across the street and eat a happy meal while chatting. I don’t know if it’s the therapy or the time together but she’s so much more balanced since we started this I’m good paying for the therapy even if it’s our conversations that are making that difference.

It’s one of the highlights of my week, and I’m about to leave the office to go grab her for it.

Plenty in Manitoba but they’ll also speak English. St Boniface is an entire neighborhood in Winnipeg where French is primary, including the arret signs. There’s a number of towns around the province where it’s the primary language as well. Bilingual of course but French is the usual spoken language.

  • LMFAO. That you are calling the vast majority of humanity knuckle draggers just demonstrates your ignorance of your own biology.

You can believe you’re different but the reality is you’re not special. You’re human, your biological imperative is present just like it is in just about every living thing on this planet. I read with a bad crowd? I’ll tell that to my friends at the drag show fundraiser I’ll be at later today. I’ll bring it up at my next meeting with the queer housing co-op that I’m helping get off the ground. Some people think the crowd I run with is bad but I think they’re cool people.

This is the level of stupid I expect from homeschooled anti-evolutionists. But you do you and you keep thinking you’re not a human being. Lmfao.

ETA. Now that you have me thinking about it, something between 1/3-1/2 of the people we’re trying to home, have children so it’s not like the non hetero community doesn’t also have the same biological imperative.
