Don’t worry, zakat is another Islamic concept the clergy (I think that’s the right English word) abuse and twist to line their pockets. Zakat and khons are both about donating to the needy, but both ideas have been twisted so many times. Khons details are different but the word is related to the number 5. The first version I remember being told is that you pay one fifth of your yearly earnings’ leftovers.
Also, not all Iranians are Persian. There are multiple cultures, despite nationalist attempts at cultural genocide.
Important to the upper classes, but not important to the wellbeing and health of average people.

This is my favorite pseudoscience to shit on. Fundamentally the big problem with it is that there are too many layers of conplexity between psychology and evolution. You can’t ignore genetics and neuroscience if you want to look at how psychology is affected, IF it’s even possible.
They did it with uranium too? I knew about radium, but not that.
I asked my professor about this. He said there are hypotheses, but no conclusion. The most likely explanation , he said, might have something to do with archaea being closer to us than bacteria in the evolutionary tree.
