I just read a story where a cop visited someone based on a noise complaint and ended up gunning the young Airman down while he was on a video call with his mother and gf… So from my perspective, cops are the danger.

When I worked in healthcare there were days where I clocked in at 7am and was forced to keep working until 11pm without any lunch or dinner break. Worker rights in the US are almost completely non-existent and the way some workers get treated is hellish
These days, profits growing slower than anticipated (but still growing) is framed as losing money.
Yes! Switching to vegan doesn’t have to be a binary, black or white, all or nothing, thing. The best way to go vegan, imo, is gradually. Start by trying different vegan foods until you find stuff you like and crave. Learn to cook tasty vegan stuff then slowly eat more and more vegan stuff you like.
One of my favorite vegan meals is freshly baked sourdough dipped in olive oil and bsalmic vinegar.
Paying for early access == paying to be a stress tester.
Also, the data needs to include how many people are accidentally shot by guns through improper usage and storage.
From the numbers I have seen, far more children are killed accidentally by good-guy-guns then they are saved by those very same guns
Maybe, but I am boycotting all capitalist entities the best I can. If I need something I try to buy used or from worker co-ops or to check it out from a library or pirate it.
The global medical community had to beg the US to ban lead from consumer products like paint and gasoline for close to 80 years and our politicians kept taking bribes from lobbyists to ignore medical science… But did we learn from that and ban lobbying? Nope, lobbyists are now bribing politicians to ignore the plastic epidemic and global warming
Replace guillotine with imprison and lets include all the lobbyists, Super PAC members, super delegates, and politicians who accept money from foreign fascist states (like Russia and Israel)
Oh, sorry. Your joke went right over my head.
Eh, Dave Ramsey has some good advice but he also has some really terrible ideas so I strongly recommend going with someone else.
Clark Howard, the Money guy, and Jill Schlesinge are all many times better than Dave Ramsey.

Go to Iceland and there are huge fields of lava rocks covered in a thick yellow-greenish moss because there isn’t enough soil for anything else to grow. It is surreal and probably what most of the earth looked like for those 40 million years
Want to guess why?
I am sure we can all guess, but make sure you call the city and kindly ask them to explain it. Then when they give you some bullshit excuse you can politely call them out. No swearing, no anger, and be brief.
Is that why we hate Soviet housing so much, because it gave the homeless dignity, shelter and comfort?
Tbf, Europeans often do the same to us (or at least they did on Reddit) when we try to talk about how dystopian late-stage-capitalism has become in the US. So many Europeans can’t wrap their minds around: being fired for calling out sick, women being forced to return to work a week after giving birth because we don’t have paid parental leave, people going bankrupt for using an ambulance, companies firing people with zero warning, reason or severance, millions of Americans not having access to healthcare, having huge areas in your city too dangerous to walk through because you would have to sprint across 40m of concrete with cars speeding around you at 70kmph just to cross the road, our traffic fatality rate being 10x higher than most European countries, not having any functional public transit in most US towns and cities, etc…
The Soviets built cost effective, durable homes for all their homeless (tens of millions since most of the destruction in ww2 happened on the eastern front) and the world will never forgive them for it.
But then most of them would die from suffocation
Eh, for me, it’s more like: capitalism is a deeply immoral system so we have a moral obligation to avoid supporting greedy, souless corporations that exploit the labor of others. But it is important to note that pirating from small indie companies should be avoided. Maybe download the game to give it a try, but if you like the game then absolutely go buy it or donate to the creators
Too true. I would give my right hand to live in Europe rather than the US.
