Any idea why it seems to have suddenly dropped by 10k in a single month?
!television@lemm.ee now at 1.1k subscribers (up about 60) from last week.
!television@lemm.ee has hit the over 1k mark and now has 1040k subscribers, and remains the most user-active community on lemm.ee
Honestly, the success of !television@lemm.ee is pretty much based on whats going on in the world regarding tv news and updates. Not much in the last 3 days admittedly. I do make the occasional question thread, but I’m wary of sounding like a broken record - and there’s not enough of a base audience yet to do other things communities do.
Still on track to hit that 1,000 subs in about a week or so tho.
Once so far. That’s it.

I’m building a big nested feed system of all lemmy communities.
I mean this exists on a few instances. Namely Piefed. That’s fine, but obviously most people don’t use Piefed. The implication here is that it should be in the base lemmy model.
I’m done now. Just some thoughts that popped into my head.
I understand that.
Well for me, its contextual. I mod !obscuremusic@lemm.ee currently. If you read the sidebar, and just observe how I post - that’s basically the formatting I’d like. Other people on there aren’t always following it. Now, I don’t really think its a huge problem currently - I’m glad other people are using it. I’m trying to grow it - but some of the ‘errors’ are really minor in regards to the post formatting.
In other cases, it’s just cleaning things up for aesthetic purposes. Fixing typos etc. Small things like that, you know?
Yeah, I mean if mod edits are public then I don’t know how this could be abused meaningfully without completely discrediting your community.
I mean, and/or the use of bots to automatically instantly remove posts that don’t meet the posting format.
I think if the edit log showing the moderator that edited it, and timestamped was publicly visible then any attempts at vandalism or trolling would obviously backfire.
And “by quietly” I simple mean adjusting it. I have no issue with that edit going on the public record in those circumstances. Just I would do it without necessarily bothering the OP. Or maybe it could ping them too automatically. I don’t mind.
Are you familiar with piefeds feed function?
Well in an ideal world, it might reduce the average amount of upvotes a post/comment gets, but provides more meaningful insight into the communities reaction.
Some were already in, but have been added to online media (under entertainment -> media) and medical respectively (blood donors)
I might make a “Journaling” nest based on 2 of yours there, but I’ll wait until I get some more.
Yet in the meantime, it can cause communities to lock-up. I would argue a week is more realistic. Plenty of communities are that abandoned.
