  • As someone that likes to do a lot of scrolling, I’m also running into the same problem. There really just isn’t enough content here for it yet. There’s already a pretty small over all amount of users posting, and people have likes and dislikes and tastes and vibes, so out of that small amount, there’s only so much to interact with. Like, there’s a fair amount of content in ask and chat style communities and TV communities but no one likes everything or thinks the same topics are interesting.

So it really just needs more. So that there’s more of the same types of people watching the same shows and interested in the same topics. It doesn’t have to be packed in here, it could just do with a little more of something for everyone. It would’ve been nice if there were more than two people discussing Harley Quinn season 5 for example.

On Reddit I could spend all day every day interacting with my particular interests without ever feeling like I’m being a nuisance or repeating myself. It’s nice having a smaller crowd but I’d like something between this and Reddit.

  • Yeah I guess there’s two different categories of sci-fi in this regard. Personally, I think stuff that’s as far ahead in the future as Star Trek is pretty close to fantasy. But then there’s also the Philip K. Dick style near future dystopian sci-fi that serves more as a warning about the future we’re headed to (or instruction manual if you’re a techbro CEO).

Fantasy is probably the same actually. I usually think happy thoughts if I think about fantasy as a genre but then there’s also stuff like Game of Thrones.

  • I feel like maybe some more context I could add is that we have “tomato sauce” that’s pretty similar to ketchup. Comes in a bottle to pour from and is one of the most regularly used sauces. Still processed I guess but thicker and better tasting and definitely not as sweet as the American stuff. As opposed to tomato paste or tinned tomato or whatever.

  • One thing I’m starting to find though is that the yellow emojis are maybe looking a little too much like Reddit style awards at first glance, or at least making me think of them. Might look for purple alternatives or something else that looks a bit more toned down along with a dark theme.

I like your idea. Seems like a good way to be reminded of something random and get a laugh while you’re scrolling.

  • Phones have become boring and are all the same. I want options like we had with Nokia back in the day. So a music phone, gaming phone, business phone etc. but with a modern OS. All we have now are camera phones. Google announcing that they’ve added a second possible function to The Button in settings just doesn’t excite me. Smartphones have become shit and it’s not because we’ve perfected them or some shit, it’s because chasing lines on marketing graphs and playing follow the leader has resulted in no choice anymore and everything being lowest common denominator, mass produced slop.

  • Young Justice rocks. I love the stuff that showcases a little bit of everything in the universe.

Currently distracting myself with a rewatch of Batman Brave and the Bold while eating and stuff. If you’re ever in the mood for something funnier, would recommend. Even if you’re sick of Batman, this is a fun version that’s friends with everyone and isn’t an asshole. And there’s appearances from everyone from Kamandi the last boy to Doom Patrol.

Personally I’m looking forward to that same kind of idea where everything exists in the same universe from Gunn’s take on things. And hopefully not counting my chickens before they hatch. But I get the idea that’s what he’s going to go for.

As far as Marvel goes, I’m more of an X-Men fan than anything else personally, so I’m really hoping there’s going to be an X-Men '98 and '99. Not particularly looking forward to MCU X-Men but maybe I’ll be entertained.

  • Yeah, it’s not all bad. Although I think just like Reddit, your experience is largely influenced by the communities in your feed. Seeing the general outlook in here makes me realise I could stand to spend more time in communities like this than I have been.

There’s actually a lot of good about this place, even if it’s not sunshine and rainbows all the time or perfect.

I do think it could be a little busier though. A lot of communities could do with more posters and conversation in the comments in general. Like, there’s still a lot of room for more activity around here without it getting overcrowded and not seeing regulars anymore.

That said, there’s actually more than enough good content and people, to make it worth coming back here tomorrow, particularly in the non politics and news cycle side of things here. And I agree that it does feel more international here than Reddit, even if 90% of the news still revolves around the USA anyway lol.
