Dev here. Could you please tell me:
The fact that you are seeing “hearts” to like makes me think it is < 0.4.0 because now there are thumbs up/down (since Friendica allows disliking too).
I’m ashamed (as an Italian) to discover only now thanks to this post that “orzo” can be a pasta format and not just another cereal (it also means “barley”). I always heard the term “risoni” for it but “orzo” apparently is used as well. And I agree, it sucks.
In case you did not know there is a cylindric variant too called “tempestina” which is even more awful (mainly used for soups, or for small children). It’s uncommon to see grown adults eat them but, unfortunately, they exist.
Ok, I think I get it: customize per-user the sorting of posts and comments when you visit their profile, just like we already do for communities. That is an interesting feature too!
User tagging is a super interesting feature, if it can be useful to someone it could be implemented in Raccoon too.
Can I ask what you mean by “post/comment sorting”: how could it be improved?
Elections? No need for them after the surveillance system is up and running!
Thanks to you for the appreciation and for using the app, it really means a lot to me. I love Lemmy and I am really glad if I’ve managed to contribute even a tiny little bit to make this place nice for us all. This journey has made me grow as an individual (more than as a developer), I received a lot in terms of support, help, new friends, etc. and I hope to be able to give it back to the community.
Multi-communities? Really? 😍
Since I worked on a Mastodon client, I know that there is a hide_collections
parameter in the account settings which allows you to not disclose publicly your followers and following.
It’s in the PATCH v1/accounts/update_credentials
API request body, see documentation here.
Feel you bro. Been there (and probably “about to be there soon”) too.
Yes, the main fork (which was up-to-date with the latest changes) was moved to an organization co-owned by the same 2 people and it is being maintained in continuity with the same goals and spirit.
It’s unlikely that any dev “kills” his work after being so committed to it and leaves users, whom he knew almost one by one, with a handful of dust.
This fork is the new official one. A new community has been created recently to replace the old one too.
We are planning to release a new version, at least on GitHub asap. The announcement is likely to be given in tomorrow’s Q&A session (the monthly AMA).
On Raccoon you can see the list of communities of an instance in the “Instance details” page, which can be accessed from the top bar menu in the community detail screen.
Moreover, you can explore instances in guest mode, both from user detail and community detail.
