What’s habits precious?
I mean. For me it was the constant forced updates, the adversarial secret config options that may or may not be misdirecting lies that do nothing, constantly forcing edge install, every (forced) update causing worse performance and making the ui shittier, trying to shove one drive down your throat so they can harvest that sweet personal data, forced online accounts, etc.
Yeah I agree this seems more like tech debt and possibly a shitty architecture to me, both problems that ultimately come from poor management. The codebase I’m responsible for at work was developed in a mad rush, and the levels of pointless coupling and interdependence sometimes makes it hard to change anything without spending forever tracking down all the stupid little places that piece was touching. That shit comes from management pushing you to just do the thing already and move on, which works for a while until things get so messy you have to slow down or spend some time on a refactor. Someone could easily have made a technical decision for the sake of expedience, which was then built upon and became interconnected with other things in a way that made changing it require a major change, which of course no manager will support, so the work gets broken up into 100 tiny stupid tickets trying to move toward adding the new feature without ever making a breaking change, slowing down the whole thing even more.
The immortal ones keep forgetting to reproduce so only the mortal ones do.
A lot. The answer is it could fuck things up a lot worse than what we have.
The problem with religion is it primes people for believing things just based on a trusted authority saying so. There’s no evidence in support of the existence of any supernatural entities whatsoever, and there’s no evidence to support the existence of a life after death, but people believe it anyway and religion holds their “faith” to be a virtue in and of itself. You could argue that that isn’t harmful by itself, but consider that many religious people believe things that the evidence of their own eyes proves impossible, and that any idea is fair game when you treat faith as a virtue. It doesn’t matter if people today only believed the “good” parts of religion, eventually someone will corrupt their blind faith and convince them of whatever they want, like that being gay is a sin worthy of death, that trans people are evil and shouldn’t be allowed to exist, that your pastor is totally a great guy and you should donate money to the church and totally trust him alone with your kids. The dangers of religion are in teaching people to stop thinking for themselves.
Just a reminder that insurance is a scam. You are compelled to pay for it under penalty of law in the case of car insurance, and the insurance companies do everything possible to maximize their profits, being for profit companies. What this means in general is that people pay more into insurance than they ever get out. If they didn’t the insurance companies wouldn’t make a profit. The money you pay isn’t going into some huge fund that supports everyone who pays for it. If it doesn’t go to paying out claims now it goes straight to the insurance executives, or investors, or to “lobbying” politicians to keep the racket going. The day you stop paying out you get fucking nothing. All that money is just gone, for the pleasure of maybe having your claim paid out if your insurance company can’t weasel their way out of paying. Insurance is a scam, a bunch of penny pinching middlemen draining the world of human productivity and effort for their own benefit and nothing else. Any benefit a particular individual happens to get is a loss to be minimized to them.
Those are rookie numbers. You need to pump those numbers up.
Just a reminder you can say fucking here. Fucking fuck shit you can, and holy fucking dogshit does that cunt fucking AI bullshit not even fucking work to replace a fucking intern, let alone a full ass engineer.
You can say bullshit on the internet. You can also say shit. Some more fun words you can use are fuck, cunt, cock, dick, pussy, bitch, and ass. Don’t let the cunty puritans win. Don’t give in to censorship.
I am Jack’s complete lack of surprise
I mean to be fair the sheer amount of material most university engineering programs require these days makes spending significant time on specific problems almost impossible. They try to shove so much theory into your head they lose track of practical implementation. Basically everyone I went to school with complained about the lack of practical application relative to theory, and I studied mechanical engineering which is theoretically and literally chiefly concerned with hardware.
What you’re missing is some men legitimately hate their wives and children and dislike spending time with them. Others drank the coolaid of American capitalist propaganda. Your child will only be a newborn once and your wife will need the help. If anything you should be normalizing it by telling all your friends and colleagues how great it is and how happy you are to get to spend that time with your family. Never shut up about how awesome it is. Expound at length about the many benefits you personally enjoyed thanks to your time with your new child. Every man you convince makes the world a better place.
Luigi Luigi. Luigi Luigi Luigi. Luigi, Luigi Luigi hahaha. Luigi Luigi.
Wanted to know if they made any real advances in muscle actuators so I looked this up. They’re pneumatic, and the model in the photo barely moves and doesn’t stand on its own. An article said they will switch to hydraulics in the future. Neither pneumatics or hydraulics is efficient enough to be useful in a standalone human sized machine, so this looks like more of an art piece aimed at fleecing some idiot venture capitalists.

It baffles me that medical device manufacturers use windows for fucking anything. You’d think just the licensing cost would push them away, but it being hot garbage for embedded software should have been enough. It’s amazing any medical device certification process would allow them to use it at all, with the notorious unreliability and not giving a shit what you think about updates. People could die because of a fucking windows update at the wrong time.
