You woke up this morning. That’s pretty great news!!

Today, just completed a task that required coordinating with a few different teams and was a known blocker for a very big project coming up fast. Got it done ahead of time.

My boss positively called me out in front of their boss and other high ranking members of the org for it with a thank you.

I’ve been at this team for< 2 months. from a team where the boss would take credit for everything and then ask you to explain it to him several times so he could just parrot it back to his boss even after “leading” the team for over a year.

This felt like a joy.

The non musical family guy episodes.

It’s the only comedy show where there’s no laugh track, loud noises, and they explain every scene as it’s happening.

This has happened a lot to me. Or I just be a fan in silence.

There’s a great line from the band Sloan about this that comes up whenever I hear this.

“It’s not the band I hate, it’s their fans”

Ah, ok. The [Show](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Hitchhiker's_Guide_to_the_Galaxy_(TV_series) does the first two books. Not the third.

Because I remember them going to the restaurant and then meeting the hairdressers and telephone sanitizers and the mess they get the main characters into, but forgot about the Krikket/wikket people.

The BBC series does up to them being on >!prehistoric hairdresser and middle management earth!< Iirc

Which I’m pretty sure is the third book. But I haven’t read it in a loooooong time.

I used to very frequently. (For about 3-4 months, 5-7x a week)

Don’t anymore. Wish I did

1. Admitting that I don’t have control over my symptoms.
2. Meds. Taking vivanse and wellbutrin in the morning and experimenting (with Dr approval) Adderall in the afternoon
3. Making sure I have some exercise as part of my morning every day routine (biking/walking on my way to work, going for a walk before walk when I wfh)
4. Getting out for a walk bike ride during the day
5. Talk therapy with a CBT pro

1000% agreed on no hello. Got constant "hello"s from many team members. They’d even wait for me to reply before sending messages… Only figured that out after my boss brought it up in a 1:1 … I just thought they realized the answer to the question.

I’m not talking about “sitting in your chair thinking” times. I’m talking about those micro BS conversations that people have around the office just to relieve from the monotony and try to bond. “Oh I spent last night playing this game/watching this show/ etc.” or right after a meeting.

It’s not great but I honestly like it. For a few reasons

1. It forces me out of the house to get my full 10k steps in. Which I never get when I wfh due to my ADHD and putting it off.

2. I always feel if my coworkers are online I’m hesitant to ping them because they may be busy and I don’t wanna bother them. If in the office, I can see if they’re not that busy and have been able to say hi.

3. I have a toddler and when she’s not in daycare she, or my partner, likes to come in and break my flow

We’re 3 days a week in which is good and bad since I def am able to see most coworkers at least one day a week and also have two days I can wfh and either leave early or have an easy morning, but is weird due to when people come in.
