Personally I’ve had the same number for years and it’s the one I give out, but as an IT professional I definitely know individual experiences vary. The main issue has been the few texting stuff that doesn’t support it. Like ubereats, which I guess doesn’t matter since I stopped using them a while ago, but there are others.
Yeah, that was definitely one of them. I’ve seen more than one I think, but that memory resonates.
Rats and mice also. I’ve seen a few videos of terriers killing rats, the squeaks and the way they roughly shake them so hard they die is somewhat disturbing.
I think they were all homo sapiens.
I think you have to edit them. Deleted comments show up when we hit reply to em.
That’s just your myopic opinion. Plenty of people live fulfilling lives without random chance of an early death being their meaning of living. Perhaps you’re misunderstanding my original comment. I didn’t say immortality (though several religions do promise that as an afterlife), nor did I say unlimited wishes. I mostly said stuff like fatal diseases, daily needs, and unfair deaths like genocides, etc. You added in plane crashes, which also isn’t necessary for a fulfilling life.
It sounds a bit like you’re a zero sum person, like not everyone in the world can have basic needs. As a reminder, we’re discussing this under the assumption there is a loving omnipotent we can pray to. If the world is so messed up that people can’t even expect to not die horribly of stuff that just happens to them outside their own choices, or where not everyone had an equal opportunity to just live a simple life and have their needs met, then that suggests that an omnipotent God decided to make life that way, and such a being is not deserving of my worship, and hasn’t proved their existence.
Sure, for you. If a young single parent who is the only one who can support their child dies, at best they’re hoping for nontraumatic foster care, but in many places, including first world countries, it can mean far worse for them. Still, I’ll cede personal cancer for the sake of the overall point. That was hardly the worst issue in my comment.
If you think dying only affects yourself, then that’s already selfish, or sad. You have no family or friends who would mourn you? What if you’re the breadwinner, or you have young children? A person dying doesn’t affect only themselves.
I’m a problem solver by trade and in recreation (IT, games, etc), but I also complain sometimes without desiring a fix. Sometimes I know a way to solve it but am just complaining that it even needs to be solved, and sometimes I either want to share just because it’s interesting, or because it’s funny.
Sometimes I’m just venting, and an actual fix won’t help my mood while venting. Like I will take the advice and apply it later, but for thus moment, I need to get my feelings out. I’m a cis* male.
*(it’s been suggested I’m actually nonbinary or something similar due to my mild interest in gender fluidity, but I personally don’t identify that way, nor do I get bothered if referred to that way or by any gender).
Lots of people. You enjoy people dying for no fault of their own? I don’t need planes crashing. I don’t have a personal need of guns, and if there were no unjust threats, why is a gun necessary? As for crime, crime is really a construct based on a created morality, so that’s up in the air.
My examples were about innocent people suffering, and it feels like your response is “Who would want to live in a world where innocent people don’t suffer?” I almost think you’re joking, because that’s a seriously messed up thing to admit about yourself, much less assume everyone else agrees.
What about praying to not die of cancer or for jobs and/or places to live? Or praying for a child to live, or for no Genocide etc. Lots of nonselfish prayers out there.
The funny thing is I’m in IT. The amount of tabs I have open is usually due to solving issues, opening multiple tabs of info to research without losing place. Just I often tend to forget to close some when done, or I get interrupted by either other work, questions (I’m an escalation point so helping my coworkers is also part of my job), or straight up ADHD. I used to keep tabs open to track manga/manhwa I’m interested or reading, but I use an app for that now and close apps way more often now.
I still might get a bunch open when trying to figure out game stuff or making choices for either shopping or D&D/Pathfinder or just something I need to look up, but the manga/manhwa was really the one that kept stuff open for days at a time.
My desktop is empty because I don’t use it. I hide all icons as well so the system ones don’t show either. As for my tabs… why don’t we talk about something else, and not why I got 64gb of ram so I could open more tabs.

I mean the last time I did something similar (many many years ago) it just have me a stronger understanding that not everyone has the same experience as me, tastes matter, and that that’s OK. It calmed me down a bit on gushing about stuff.
Most survival builders that use natural resources. I’d see flowers I think I should gather, or trees I could chop down for wood, etc
My brother and I (mostly him, just helped a small bit) used to distribute Anime this way. He’d buy laserdiscs of Anime like Rurouni Kenshin (OVA/Prequel)and Yu Yu Hakushou, then download translations for subtitles and time them on the computer, using a bluescreen pass through and onto some SVHS VCRs. From those two SVHS VCRs, he’d use 9 others to copy them onto VHS tapes for distribution via mail. He’d charge cost iirc, not making profit on it.
I’m 100% sure it would be considered piracy if the companies had a way to find out. Plus VHS tapes had piracy warnings on them back then anyway.
At its core it usually is, but they often push it outward. My experience with a conservative religion was mostly just self hatred at not being good enough too honestly, but my personality was never much on the conservative axis. Or rather, when I did stuff on that level I never felt good about them.
