  • I don’t think you understand my point.

Let’s break this down by making up a hypothetical sexual history for the woman in question:

Guy 1 - Committed relationship, waited 3 months

Guy 2 - Casual fling, no waiting

Guy 3 - Committed relationship, waited 2 date

Guy 4 - Casual relationship, no waiting

Guy 5 - Hookup, no waiting

If, now that she’s seeing guy 6, she magically decides it’s time to be responsible and wait for a while. Any guy that has self respect isn’t going to tolerate that. Why is this new guy so different than than the previous ones? Why does she make him wait, but none of the previous men?

Anyone is going to figure that she is 1. Not attracted to him and is settling down after having fun to secure stability, or 2. Has cognitive dissonance about her past. A guy not accepting that and being skeptical of her intentions or level of honesty is fully justified.

And for the record, I apply my principles evenly between men and women. Casual sex is disgusting and a long sexual history is a sign of impulsive, irresponsible behavior or placing no value on your body or relationships. Man or woman.

  • I’ve never understood the popularity of FFDP. “War is the Answer” is their best album by a heavy margin and it’s just… Fine? Like it’s listenable, I can listen to it without being bored. At the end of the day it makes me wish I was listening to Avenged Sevenfold, Shinedown, or Killswitch Engage.

But the rest of their music is unbelievably boring. Their covers of other people’s music is their best work, probably because they can’t write interesting music.

  • KDE. I don’t have to change anything (other than taskbars on all monitors rather than just the main one) for an experience I like. Everything just works. Wayland support is best in class.

I don’t like gnome’s workflow and it takes COSMIC level customization for me to like it. And technical issues are common for me. Namely windows constantly spawning off screen and delayed reactions.

XFCE’s default layout is absolutely horrible and there’s no Wayland support. Mint XFCE’s implementation is good though.

Cinnamon, in my experience, is buggy and has similar technical problems to gnome.

I’ve used i3wm and it’s okay, but I would never use it on my main desktop. Takes a certain kind of workflow.

I’ve messed with AwesomeWM and can say it’s very ok.

LXDE/LXQT are obsolete. Not old school, obsolete. And in the case of QT, there’s absolutely no reason to use it when XFCE has the same ram usage anyway.

I haven’t used any other desktops other than these.
