I think you’re making problems where there aren’t any. A device PIN or fingerprint along with Signal is probably way more secure than any family chat needs to be.

I imagine that most people’s families will find Singal easier than using a CLI program anyway. It’s rare to find an entire family without typical cellphones.

Signal is perfectly good under normal usage. Everything is unintuitive when it comes to extremes like losing your device.

Sure, and the Spectrum ZX I used to use 35 years ago had even less. The GameCube is ancient history, it’s not the benchmark for a reasonable amount of memory for anyone.

People in this thread don’t want to waste 2 seconds per use of a video game on a logo screen, but will happily waste the day discussing it.

Not only is it just 2 seconds, but it’s 2 seconds while the game is no doubt being loaded into memory while it plays anyway.

This is like whining about the Pixar animation that plays before all of their movies (for much longer than 2 seconds).

You previously said it’s transphobic “If you’re attracted to someone and then pretend you aren’t simply based on the fact that they’re trans” and I don’t quite agree.

Say, for example, that I, a straight man, am attracted to a woman. After a while I discover that she’s gay. I’m attracted to her, but I may pretend not to be given the situation. That doesn’t make me homophobic, I’m just making a decision based on information.
