Disappointing but still better than Dr. Oz. Fetterman didn’t change all his positions. He still wants to do things like expand voting rights, supports health care expansion, abortion rights, etc.

He’s not actually a republican, he’s trying to thread the needle to not alienate too many dems while appealing to rural voters, blue collar men, and willing to adopt shitty positions on things like immigration to do so.

Fwiw if anyone is confused, he’s still a Democrat in office and self description, he’s gone rightward on a few issues, namely immigration and Israel, and no longer considered himself a progressive.

Some of the comments might seem like people are saying he literally switched parties, which is wrong. Even symbolically i think its the wrong sentiment too.

I check in about once a week or two to make sure comments haven’t reappeared and take 5 mins to see if things are changing. I noticed a number of my old favorites that are small to midsized definitely have less upvotes on top posts and generally…I think that’s a fair proxy for decreased user activity. I think declaring that “reddit won” ignores the degrading quality and lower activity levels…its a weaker platform now.
