I don’t understand what you’re asking here. I’m saying if you kept UTC in every place on earth, you’d still have to relate those hours to a solar based local time. If you wake up at 6UTC in London and then travel to Moscow, the sun in Moscow would rise 3 hours earlier (guessing, not sure exactly what time time difference is). So if Moscow was also keeping UTC, they would set their alarms for 3UTC to wake up with the sun. If you travel to Moscow, you’d wake up at 3UTC with the sun, which is the equivalent of 3am London time, but is around sunrise locally. This is just how time zones work, so I have no idea where the confusion is.

Sunrise at 06:00 UTC in one timezone would occur at 03:00 UTC three timezones over, I mean. The relationship between standard time and local, solar noon based time (sunrise, noon, sunset, midnight) is going to have a flexing relationship across different places on Earth. So if you’re travelling or even communicating across timezones, you haven’t fixed anything by using UTC since daily activities (sleep, meals, etc.) are still correlated to when the sun is up or not. Timezones communicates that daily relationship with time pretty effectively without having to do a lot of thought about it all the time.

And you’d still have to adjust to local time anyway! Travel three timezones and now noon is at 9 instead of 12. Your alarm to wake up at 6, now needs to be at 3.

Maybe if it gets popular you can implement categories of some sort? So people who don’t want to opine on certain topics can tap out before getting those questions

Right now it’s a firehose of bad policy designed to suppress, but it’s important to strongly oppose on as many fronts as possible because a lot of this can and will get shut down if we try. This administration is counting on apathy to get away with this shit, and I think it’s important to separate our expectations of these actions from acceptance of these actions.

Call or write your congressmembers. Find a protest going on near you. Don’t talk to cops/ICE. Contact your state attorney general about what they’re doing to sue for your rights. Download archives of the webpages the feds are taking down and distribute to those who need it. Talk to your neighbors, your community, and see about who needs help from mutual aid, and get resources where they can be used. Donate to someone’s gofundme to get needed healthcare.

Anyone reading this, just do any action that makes the world marginally better right now. You can’t solve all this by yourself, none of us can, but we can all do a little to push us in the right direction.

Specifically on women’s mental health deteriorating in this situation, often this can occur when she’s still expected to pick up the majority (or all) of domestic labor in addition to her well-paying job. Women are still largely expected to “do it all” by not only their partners but by society. If you’re not a perfect businesswoman, mother, and domestic servant all in one all the time, well you’re failing your spouse, your children, your boss, your identity as a woman, etc. Women don’t just need their male partners to step up for them in labor alone, but also to reevaluate their social role that they are propagating through their (in)actions. What are you teaching your kid if mom is the only one who cooks dinner? Or cleans regularly without reminders? Or keeps track of doctor’s visits, field trips, etc?

Ah, yes, understanding where capitalism has produced a worse quality, minimally viable product that makes people a little sad but not enough to effect profit margins enough to change, is clearly due to class divide and not the estrangement of the general population from the products of their labor.

For most people who menstruate, they bleed for around 7 days but that’s not the number of days spent in pain, which are typically 1-3 days with varying levels discomfort. Peak discomfort may only be for a few hours when appropriately treated. Flexibility here might include working from home if an option, where you can be under a heat pack and well medicated, up to time off (partial days off here can be important!). People who need to take multiple days off a month for this 1) probably would do it anyway and maybe call it a headache or something else instead, and 2) may need further medical care and attention (that they may be able to receive if they aren’t spending all of their sick time on this one issue).

Since you need your hand held here, this is my perspective: this comic’s humor is just perpetuating a common, incorrect stereotype that women act nice to each other but actually hate each other. The punchline is secretly “women be bitches am I right?” and I believe this because if you swapped either or both of the characters in the comic out for men, it would no longer work as a joke.
