I think it depends on the country. If you click on their instructions for different countries—Itally, for example—they have screenshots that show needing a document number like a Personal ID card.
My understanding is you need to input identification data, like a driver’s license just as an example, to sign.
They expect some invalidating, hence aiming for over the million, but why do you think a “fair chunk” will be from USA specifically?

Right now I’m using OneDrive because I have a decent chunk of storage that comes with my family office 365 plan. However, I am hoping to not renew that plan when it comes due, and I’m not yet sure what other provider I’m going to switch to, so this is mostly an unhelpful answer lol.
Automatic backups of my most precious data. Photos, project work, important documents. Some are backed up weekly and some monthly but all automatic. Archived onto a separate partition, copied to external HDD, and then uploaded to cloud storage.
This feels like terrible advice for the majority of people who, in my personal experience, do not enjoy troubleshooting.
