Did you get the matching Gravis Gamepad or was it late enough that you had a Microsoft Sidewinder?
At the Scottish Rite Center in Mission Valley? There’s a good chance I was also there that year. My two most prized possessions I acquired there were a 3dfx Voodoo Rush, and a modded PlayStation 1 in a clear plastic housing.
Pasting the same thing I commented last time this was posted:
After reading that entire post, I wish I had used AI to summarize it.
I am not in the equally unserious camp that generative AI does not have the potential to drastically change the world. It clearly does. When I saw the early demos of GPT-2, while I was still at university, I was half-convinced that they were faked somehow. I remember being wrong about that, and that is why I’m no longer as confident that I know what’s going on.
This pull quote feels like it’s antithetical to their entire argument and makes me feel like all they’re doing is whinging about the fact that people who don’t know what they’re talking about have loud voices. Which has always been true and has little to do with AI.
Yeah, I was alive for nearly all of the ‘80s, but I wasn’t really aware of the ‘80s.
By contrast, I took part in the ‘90s. I went to ska shows, I watched TRL, I sent pager codes to my friends.
Born in ‘81. The ‘90s were my teenage years.
I’m just a ‘90s kid with a rapidly greying beard.
Back in my day, that used to be the only way a computer could produce sound. Later on you could purchase a specialized sound card that would take up a slot in your motherboard.
Taking your initial post and this comment into consideration, you may be in a situation I find myself in (or I may be projecting, who knows). I started out with some regular ass depression and threw in what was originally some recreational weed consumption. After a while I found myself as a daily weed smoker. My partner seems to have a much different experience as a daily smoker than I do. For me it manifests itself as you are describing, just a lack of excitement about life. I feel like my weed hangover isn’t like an alcohol one, but rather it saps my motivation to do anything productive that I’m not being held accountable for. If I was also unemployed and unable to find a job, I’m sure it would be worse for me. At the moment, I’ve cut back on my consumption and am making it a point to only partake on weedkends. Pairing that with more exercise has worked well for me in the past, but I find it difficult to get in the exercise habit with that low level of motivated energy. Finding a form of exercise where you don’t notice the work you’re doing is also helpful. I don’t much like basketball, but a friend of mine invited me out to fuck around and shoot hoops with them. Probably the easiest time I had getting in some cardio without realizing it. Nowadays, I’ve got a rowing machine that I use while I watch streaming shows. I usually find my lust for life returning when I’ve put in the maintenance on the machine that is my body. It’s a lot easier to feel alive when you feel alive.
There’s a dodge meter now that shows you how many dodges each character has left
So the assumption is that they took the game down for almost a year, changed nothing, and are putting it back up?
The fact that it is gonna be live action is what concerns me the most. I hope it’s live action in the style of the Netflix One Piece series and not the Bob Hoskin’s Super Mario Bros film.
The content made it seem that way. No worries.
Definitely a tribal rite of passage in need of updating to remain relevant. I do take umbrage with the chanting at a magical fairy. That’s far more a chrisitian thing. But what are the horrendous implications?
And turns men into wolves
While every religion has its crazies (GTFO, orthodox & hassids), I found judaism to be far more critical and questioning than other religions that I’ve been exposed to. Literally the opposite of black & white thinking, a bunch of the religious texts are actually just arguments of different scholars (contemporaries of christ) offering opposing viewpoints and interpretations of older doctrines. (I’ve got an unfounded theory that this is why so many jewish people go into the study of law.)
That being said, I am not a religious person and despite being raised jewish, I now consider myself an atheist. Technically a satanist if we’re talking about giving my money to some kind of church.
Not the highest monetary amount, but really well documented:
Naked & Famous is my favorite. It’s been described as the result of a Oaxacan love affair between The Last Word and a Paper Plane.
Stupid people always say no. There are no rules given for what smart people say. One could answer no to the question and the stupid people rule may not be applicable.
Comedy is an important part of Point & Click games for me. If anyone has other suggestions, I’d love to hear them.
This list is in order of my favorites:
Ah yeah, Pechanga Arena was just “The Sports Arena” in the era before sponsoring venues was a thing. They still to a swap meet in the parking lot of that place every weekend. Random other info about that place, they shot a scene from Almost Famous at one of the freight entrances there.
