12·7 months agoI remember what the standardising committee did to XMPP: users wanted to share photos, send files, and make audio/video calls; XMPP said “we’re not going to standardize that, but each application can use its own extensions”… then it all went to hell.

PS: The day right before my open heart surgery, was one of the happiest in my life: no responsibilities, and a real chance of ditching all consequences. The surgery was a success, though 😐

I have to get up at 8:00 AM. It’s 2:18 AM. Shit.
Couple decades ago, after watching a film at the cinema, two random girls at the exit:

Girl 1: “That was a long film, what did you think of it?”

The ending was the plot twist.
I found that same movie slow and kind of boring… until the plot twist at the ending.
Since then, I always assume that either the reviewer “didn’t understand the ending”, or I “didn’t understand the ending”, so most reviews are useless.

An anxiety t-rex… 😨
I learned about death by accidentally killing a fly once. Then my mimo passing away. Then almost dying from sepsis. Then a classmate dying from a hit to the head. Then having to put down a sick dog. Then seeing a neighborhood cat get hit by a car in front of me, with an eye popping out and still breathing for a while. Then getting a hearth attack. Then my mom getting cancer and finding her dead in her bed.
I’m fucking tired of learning about death, can I stop now? please…?

We may not have a way of knowing even after the fact. A series of “strategic miscalculations” could as easily lead to a WW3, or to multiple localized confrontations where all sides lose more than they win… optimized for whatever goals the AI(s) happen(s) to have.
Right now, the likely scenario is that there is no single “sentient AI” out there, but definitely everyone is rushing to plug “some AI” into everything, which is likely to lead to at least an AI-vs-AI competition/war… and us fleshbags might end up getting caught in the middle.
Looks like a single sweeping cut with the edge, just from unsheathing, in a high arch to a resting position… and the frame got cut like paper.
