I give the old ones a pass because they were made outside of Hollywood, on tiny budgets, with relatively unknown actors. The new ones cost millions and were full of big names throughout the whole production.

Mad Max Fury Road. I honestly don’t understand how people like it. The storyline is paper thin to the point of being almost missing. I guess the steampunk motif is good if you’re into that, but the rest of the movie was just trash.
Just like chromium is safe from Google?
There’s no mention of apples in the biblical record, just “fruit”
Some friend’s kids came up to me the other day and asked if I knew the guy Weird A.I. who makes funny videos of songs on YouTube. It took me a little while to realise what was going on.

I know a few people who’ve done this. When they got married they decided they didn’t like either last name so just chose a new one. In one case it was the guy’s online handle - which was also a normal last name. In the other case it was a name from their favourite movie.
Yeah, when I need one I buy one from eBay for about $8. Sure it’s probably a bulk licence that’s been setup on a stolen credit card, but in all my years of doing this I’ve never had one of these licences revoked.
What did Geppetto do to you?!
Huh? I don’t recall there ever being a subscription for FB. I also use social fixer extension which helps
I’m not especially interested in Arch, but I’d like to know where the metal garden is 🤘
It’s not nice but it works for the couple of times a week I check some specific subs that I want to stay in.
I think it’s hard to maintain a critical mass in an anonymous social media/aggregator. You need enough fresh content to satisfy users, and you need enough users to provide that user driven content.
If you’re only in the popular Lemmy channels then you probably wouldn’t notice the users leaving, but the small communities are the first to go.

I don’t think Frasier would work without Frasier
