Does VLC report this? Kinda seems like the sorta thing that only works on actual players.

What about the machine language for enzymes?
Hard same. 💅
Well she’s the one who married the furry.
HD/4K video streams eat bandwidth like a motherfucker. Gonna have to find some rich hobbiests for that.
I guess someone could start a nonprofit but you’re more likely to do that for the developers themselves first.
Wouldn’t that count as a VPN, albeit one run on someone else’s machine?
No I understand the benefits of open source software but this isn’t just a feature you can code in. Without portfords to the server, a VPN, or a reverse proxy, jellyfin would have to start hosting a service.
Is it technically feasible? I guess but seems like its both out of scope and not in the interest of the developers since the last thing they want probably want to get caught in is hosting streaming relays for everyone free of charge.
I prefer a VPN for this sorta thing because its a bit more hardened.
Nginx is a good reverse proxy for my publicly available hosts.
Oh yeah no you can rent out a vps and use it as a VPN/router appliance. I’ve done that before for other projects, just figured it seemed a lil overkill here.
People are saying switch to jellyfin, which I’m all for. But you’re expecting a service which will make remote access easy like Plex ur kinda fucked.
I mean if have to set up wireguard or whatever for Jellyfin you could just do the same for Plex?
Again go to jellyfin either way, proprietary software can suck my gurl cawk, but either way you need a VPN or open ports.
I mean the OG team who’d been together since MoH Allied Assault all the way through the early MW games, only to then make Titanfall are no longer with respawn.
They’ve been for like half a decade. Whatever magic that company had has been long gone.
Also if you want to feel old, Titanfall is basically the chronilogical half way point between allied assault and now.
So however old the quake 3 engine felt in 2014 is how old that game should feel now, eek…
Shame, probably the most widespread consumer platform you can port ppc distros to.
If I and more time and energy it’d be neat to try and port something over.
Its wild to hear it called miniscule considering Wii homebrew at its peak was as big as OG Xbox or PSP modding.
Any pirate with a decent bone in their body will respect FLOSS license requirements, as they’re mostly there to weaponize the copyright system against proprietary software devs.
That’s fundamentally different to how corporations use copyright law. When you fuck over free software you’re fucking over the people who’re fighting fire with fire.
Lastly, many emulator/homebrew devs specifically rip their own ROMs and dont get involved in illegal distribution of ROMs to keep their projects legal. Lot easier to stick on a resume that way.
I think the takeaway is “The Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t the thing you should be pissed about when these tariffs are going to cause a lot more problems for way more people.”
My PC is so backwards compatible it can run games meant for OS’s my OS’s main competitor, and their ancestors as well.
Better yet it can literally run those OS’s over things like KVM/Qemu and DOSBox.
I guess Nintendo made that Wii container for Wii U like once lol.
Name one game Nintendo has made that is so technically advanced or mechanically complex they can justify charging twenty more smackers than any other AAA developer?
Its not about telling people how to do their job. Its about the fact games are cheaper and easier to make than ever, and one of the biggest names in the industry is suddenly charging more than everyone else…
Using a pre-built engine/modern toolset and not doing anything yourself are two different animals.
No one has to painstakingly write their games out in assembler like they used too. Nor do they have to pay for the costs of manufacturing/logistics for digital copies.
Also keep in mind, their sales are way higher than they where 30 years ago because of market growth.
There’s a reason indie games are flourishing, its because games are cheaper and easier to make than ever. (Not that their cheap nor easy)
I mean that’s not shocking. Its basically where pokemon was like 15 years ago.
Which funnily enough puts early versions of MC at about the halfway point between now and the release of Pokemon Blue in 96.
There are kids who grew up on Minecraft who’s kids are now playing Minecraft. Its on damn-near every platform, and sells well everywhere its sold.
I mean if I’m at already someone’s house who’s got the game on I’ll watch the sweaty dudes in tights, just not for the game.
