I think most people just have no idea how terrible outdoor cats are for native wildlife. It should be illegal, just like how you can’t let your dog wander around freely.

Tbf (and you seem to already be aware of this) that’s not really an issue with Linux. Lots of software devs don’t care about supporting Linux sadly.
Yeah I did see that after looking into it. It’s definitely on my growing list of distros to check out now, so thanks for putting it on my radar.
I guess that info not having been explained earlier maybe? I’d never even heard of Bazzite, and I’ve recently been looking up what new distro options are out there.
My assumption for the downvotes is that it’s a pretty new (~1 year) and niche (gaming-oriented) distro, and largely irrelevant to your issue.
A jack of all trades is something that does a lot of things reasonably well. I’d argue that Linux is exactly that.
Your only issue seems to be with certain types of games not working. That’s not the fault of Linux (as others have explained), but it seems like a fairly niche situation, so I don’t think it applies to your “jack off all trades” argument.
Would you say that MacOS is not a “jack off all trades”? It does a much poorer job with games than Linux…
I think it’s just a matter of explaining instances in a clear and concise way. This isn’t a Lemmy-specific issue though - it’s a problem for all of the fediverse.
https://join-lemmy.org/instances says “You can access all content in the lemmyverse from any server, so it doesn’t matter which one you choose.”, but that still leaves some things unanswered.
It seems to have done a decent job of helping new users find a suitable server with a few simple questions though.
You can easily create a new account on a different instance. The only thing you lose is your post/comment history, but many apps allow multiple accounts in case you still want access to that.
Ah I didn’t realise that, thanks. The overview page made it seem like the DRM was required for any of that to work.
It looks like they miss out on the Steamworks features “(e.g. online multiplayer, achievements, leaderboards, trading cards, etc.)” if they opt not to use their DRM, so I can understand why the vast majority of devs would want to use it.
No idea people were getting these messages lmao. Thanks!
Which one was that? Did I miss important Fediverse lore??
Maybe that’s just how badly they want to own the libs
I think most people reading it understood that was their point though.
A lot of them aren’t. And when more of them are negatively affected then they won’t be either
In addition to what others have said, cut back on the sugar.
For anyone reading this who may not be aware, there’s a lot of overlap between the two diagnoses, and there’s a chance you may have both.
So what you’re saying is I have great potential but just need to apply myself?
The main reason “dieting” doesn’t work is because people think it’s a temporary change rather than a lifelong change.
(You did address this, but it was quite far down, so I wanted to point it out more clearly.)
